Yes, it is the worst , but if that is the only complaint then that's not bad. But you are right it is a dipstick from H---.

Once you get used to it, it's not that bad, I think that was designed by the Chinese, LOL!

I gave up on trying to check the oil on this car.

Once you grapple with trying to get that thing out, then back in a couple of times....you almost feel that your causing more harm than good.

It's almost comical how bad it is.

Someone said it's because the original oil stick guide was designed for FWD with the engine turned 90 degrees to the left. They had to take it out when the engine was rotated. Ok, I buy that, but they spent hundreds of man hours on the aerodynamics of the car and can't put a decent dip stick in it ??

Borrow one from GM/Ford for the love of god.

If a real dipstick replacement with a proper guide hit the after-market, that thing would sell out in a matter of days.

It's not just you, the dipstick design is a POS! I actually try and use a flash light to help me guide it back home.

At least they have that flange for lack of a better term that halps you get the thing back in. It is a tad crowded under the hood..

I just glued some hair around the dipstick hole, and now I can get it in everytime, even in the dark ...

^^^ Me too, but it's really getting annoying.
I was thinking about wiring a light down low to help.

It's OK in enough light, but I do need a flashlight at night in most gas stations. Most of the dipstick seems covered with oil, though, even after a wipe down. Yes-the engine is off!

I have one of those little headlights you wear, on an elastic band, got that idea from a sign painter I know, he uses one working in less than optimum light,it works great under the hood, also works good for cleaning the interior when the daylight is waning!

The dipstick really does suck but I've found this to work: pull it out by pulling out (up and slightly to your right), down (towards the front of the car) and rotating counter clockwise. This essentially flips the dipstick over to the back side which is where the oil hatch marks are. This is the side you want to read anyway. The twisting motion makes the stick come out more smoothly. Returning it, you have to get the little bend at the very end of the dipstick pointing towards the front left corner of the engine compartment. This means that the dipstick handle is parallel to the left side of the car. Then you can "fiddle" it in. This is the only way I've found that works.
