I just swapped the R200V LSD into my 2005 G35x. The differential came out of a 2006 350Z and has a different breather on it than mine.
My OEM R200 open diff just has a breather cap on it, whereas this diff has the typical 90 degree vent on it with a rubber hose attached. Mine did not have a rubber hose attached to the vertical vent cap.
My question for the club: Where does the other end of this rubber vent hose attach to? Or does it just vent to atmosphere?
It just vents to atmosphere inside a hole in the subframe, nothing fancy. All it does is keep pressure from building up as the diff heats up from use. If it didn't have the breather it would push past the seals to release pressure.
