Tanabe catback vs stillen catback gen 2

Im trying to decide which one to purchase for my 2006 G35x sedan. I havent heard either one in person and is hoping someone has. I would ask which one sounds better but that is subjective and some people would say louder is better. Im asking which one is more tame?

I've personally owned the Stilen. Its a nice looking exhaust that sounds great, and adds some horsepower, but made with poor quality steel. I had issues with the muffler cracking apart and rusting, and flanges completely rotting away, causing leaks. The first time I took advantage of the lifetime warranty, Stillen customer service offered "upto" $60 to fix the cracked/rusted muffler.

The second time I tried to make a claim due to rotted out flanges, Stillen claimed I wasn't a customer, and that they had no record of me. When I gave them the proof they required, they told me the exhaust was old (10 years) and that they wouldn't do anything about it. When I informed them of the lifetime warranty, which they still advertised on their site, they told me "yeah, well...too bad". It wasn't the first time I had horrible customer service from them, but it will definitely be the last. I wouldn't recommend anything from Stillen, especially after reading about all the other horror stories from others.

I can't comment on the Tanabe for sound, although I've heard there's drone in the cabin at highway speeds. I also find the muffler to be huge, and far too flashy.

I've heard good things about the ISR exhaust that just came out for the G35 Sedan. Have you looked at that at all?

I agree with you with Tanabe being alittle big and flashy. I heard it wasn’t crazy loud and that’s why I was inquiring about it. I’ll look into ISR. Thanks for the info.

The Tanabe had awful drone at 2500 rpm. Right at 70 mph in 6th gear. Plus the resonator and muffler both are maybe 1.5" across internally. Swapping the resonator with a Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonator and the muffler with a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler got rid of 90% of the drone and sounded better. Felt a bit peppier too.

The Megan exhaust is a good option, full 3" all the way through. Thats what I have now.

MotoRdyne exhaust

Does anyone know if MotoRdyne sells a catback exhaust to fit my 2006 G35x sedan?

Catback exhaust question

Since MotoRdyne does not make an exhaust for my 2006 G35x sedan, does anyone know the next best exhaust as far as quality and performance that will fit

Gotta wait 6-9 months for the Motordyne now.

lots of different options. I bought a Nismo for a little louder than stock.

I have a sedan so OEM and aftermarket are single exit.

And personally, it's hard to go wrong with the Stillen exhaust. They do their research and make a system that sounds and performs.
