Hi everyone, I recently went to a junkyard to harvest a g35x gauge cluster because I wanted to firstly practice removing them on cars that don't matter too much as I'm just getting familiar with how to do it to make sure I don't break anything, and secondly wanted a gauge cluster while I would send mine out for repair since mine is currently acting funny (fuel gauge incorrect, random speed jumps, etc..). I managed to take out a g35x 2005 cluster with navigation however my car is a non-navi g35x 2006. Looking at the one I harvested the only difference is this little white cube attached to the back of the navi one (could someone tell me what this is? i seriously have no idea). Anyways, I was wondering if I could put the cluster I managed to get from the junkyard that seemed to work fine into my non-navi 2006 model without having to do any modifications as they look 1 for 1 without that cube attached to the back of the navi 2005 g35x.
Thank u for reading / helping the little piece I was talking about that was behind the 2005 navi model cluster
no, I couldn't find a part number or anything I have no idea what it is. it seems like that is the only difference between the gauge clusters which is why I'm considering replacing the one in my g35 with the one from the navi g35
I think my 2005 G35 sedan non-navi cluster has this as I recall removing it from the cluster when I had my fuel gauge repaired. Don't known what it's for though.
