Straightening bent rims

Hi Folks:
Dealer tells a friend of mine that he has two bent rims but will only replace ($$$) not straighten since they don't do that type of work.
Can anyone on this forum recommend a shop where wheels can be trued out here on Long Island - preferably Suffolk County?
Thanks for any guidance!

Sorry man but I just know places in Norcal. Anyways, you're buddy is looking at approx. $200 to fix. The reason the dealer won't fix it is becasue of liability issues. Becasue the rim is bent it has to be re-worked to make it striaight. I believe that process makes the wheel weaker. OEM G35 wheels are forged (ref. http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/construc.jsp).

Appreciate the reply and the link - nothing wrong with a little more education!

The only lead I have is fixrim.com - I would assume that they would give some guidance on whether straightening is feasible...I hope. Makes sense that straightening something already bent would weaken it. There has to be some level of tolerance before things go really sour....

Thanks again!

Although not in Long Island, these folks are (relatively) close.

http://www.rimandwheelworks.com/index.html in Newton, MA

They get really good buzz from the BMWCCA folks here in Boston.
