Mixing Tires (Speed Ratings) on Sedan

I have an 05'X and just bought 2 pairs of used 245/45/18 Pilot sports. The 2 pairs are the same dimension all around except one is (Y) rated and the other pair is (W) rated. The only difference in the specs of the 2 types are the Revs Per Mile are different (775 vs 680).

So, basically they are the same tires just different speed ratings:
(245/45 WR18) vs (245/45 YR18)

Will these tires work together ?? I am afraid of it messing with the AWD or VDC or something.

Keep in mind my car is an X model.

Any opinions will be appreciated

Thanx !

if they are the same tires except the speed rating i think u should be okay. i recommend giving a call to tirerack. they are very knowlegable and would know exactly why or why not u could use those tires.

Thanx Bill,

I don't even understand how the same tire size and dimensions from the same company with all the same specs including rolling diameter can have different Revs Per Mile ???

whewwww!!

Problem solved .. the Revs Per Mile listed on Tire Rack was wrong for one of the specs. They both have the same Revs Per Mile = 775.

Diff Speed ratings...

Most auto manuals would recommend against using different speed
rated tires on the same vehicle. That being said, I doubt you will
come close to the max speed for those ratings.

W=168 mph 270 km/h
Y=186 mph 300 km/h

I would be weary of holding your speed at 150mph for extended
periods of time with differently rated tires. So, in my very much
amateur opinion, unless you are going to track the car, you should
be fine.
