Finally, after a month of waiting

Hello all,

I've joined this forum about a month ago and finally came home today with my G (2005 G35 Sedan 5AT). Got her for 600 under invoice per edmunds but mostly because the first lady who quoted me apparently messed up on my quote but they honored the bad quote. Still would've been about 400 under invoice though. Only 10 miles on her and still covered in plastic

Have the clears and the 350GT emblem on the way and next up is the Z-tube and K&N drop-in.

I had one question though...I got the Premium B with the Sports Tune Package. I thought if you get the Sports Tune, you get the orange stiching which mine didn't have. I was so damn excited I didn't realize it until I got home .

Congrats on your new G! And welcome to the board. Are you planning on tinting the windows? Limo tint on the rear would look sweet. Yours is the first G sedan without a spoiler that does not look like something is missing to me. Nice clean look. I think on yours it would have looked good with one as well.

How does the dealer make profit on 400 under invoice?

Holdback would be on the order of what, $600 or so?

Thanks . I really didn't want the spoiler. Just like you said, I like the clean look. Hopefully sometime I'll get a kit for it as well.

From what I read on the web, it really depends on how much the dealer makes on holdback or some other kickback and can rage up to $3,000. Maybe I just got lucky? I just came back from a nice drive and put 140 miles on it!

That doesn't sound right to me?

Been doing a lot of research on a G35x - I am getting it through a VPP program... And from other sites have learned that the first thing they do on the VPP is take the holdback out of the price calculation - and then they add back a "dealer delivery fee", which Infiniti doubles.

I believe holdback to be either 1.5% or 1.65% of invoice. Where could the other kickbacks that range up to $3k be?

Monthly volume incentives?

I tried looking for the web site that I found this information but couldn't, sorry . Maybe you are right with the monthly volume incentives. The price of the car was $31,890.00 for Premium B and Sport Tuned which on edmunds was $32,522.00 = $632 below invoice so I thought that was a good deal. Taxes and fees were about $3000.

Welcome! You know...the more I see the sedans...the more I want one. I'll have both! A coupe and a sedan!

Where do you live?

Some place with a high density of Infiniti dealers?

How many G35 sedan's does the Infinit website say your dealer has in stock?

I live in the Bay Area and I think there is about 5 in a 50 mile radius. Not too sure how many were in stock though.

I thought the orange stitching was only on the coupe.

Yeah, but what about those handles on the doors?

Kei, congratulations on the car. DG is a nice color. You can't go wrong with gray. But you'll have to live without the orange stitching; pbm317 is right about it being a coupe-only feature.
