Wheel chips

I got a 05 with the sport wheels. I was cleaning mine the other day and have noticed chips already in the rims. I looked for curb marks but nothing, so I know not from that. It seems like the metal is so soft it chips easily. Has anyone else had this problem? Hate to get new wheels but looking like it is about time too and keep these ones put away.

Mine too after only owning the car for 3 months. Part of life I expect given I drive a bunch on the highway.

All aluminum-alloy wheels are soft and chip easily; it's the nature of the alloy.

That being said, the '05 Sport wheels seem particularly prone to chips due to their "outie" design. The spokes protrude outward substantially compared to every other car I've owned with alloy wheels, putting them in harm's way. I have a small chip in one of the spokes on my right rear wheel myself.

It's a sad fact of life with this design I expect.

D^mn and I was happy this weekend thinking how grateful I was that the wheels are easy to clean. Well this is another incentive to put the summer wheels on now.

I have a wheel chip also. Is there anything that can be done to repair the chip, short of replacing the entire wheel?
