Black Professor SP1s on Black

details are here.

They aren't 19s, but they work for me. +37 on the front may be too far for some folks, but I don't really mind. I'll be throwing on some coupe suspension shortly (as will an alignment). what I desperately need is a bodykit, but most of my funds are going to my real baby. I was a little hesitant about black wheels on a black car at first, but the anodized lip really offsets the chrome around the window (which I initially hated).

Looking Good

I was going to get those wheels as wheel, but when I found out that the lips have not protective coating on them it turned me away. I just know my GF would get it washed someday at a car wash and me wheels would be ruined. Good choice though.

thanks all for the compliments

yeah, the no clearcoat thing scared me also. but I'm the only one that does the washing, so the only rule is no one else washes it in the spring/summer/fall. add to that the fact that my wife knows i'm a freak about our car, so i'm pretty safe.

Hey guys, I'm not too sure how not having clear coat would damage the wheel when washing it. Are you guys talking about the lip? I'm interested in buying these rims so I wanna find out any bad things about it. Thanks

I like those a lot. I bet they would look good on an IP sedan (like mine) as well.

mc2/pb35 - thanks

mrg3fizzo - the no clearcoat thing isn't a big deal imo. the only thing you need to be careful about is salt/chemicals getting on them. what that means is that you should only wash w/ just car wash soap and water. no simple green, drive thru car washes, etc. i was really concerned initially, but i said to myself; "self, you only wash the car yourself in the spring/summer/fall anyway, so just make sure to use soap/water and throw on a coat of wax when your done." now as for the winter, well i have the stockers for the winter, so i don't have to worry about the salt. and it applies to the whole wheel, not just the lip or the centers.

What kit are you planning on getting?

Please don't get something gaudy or boy-racer. The lines of the car are so awesome, the car will look just perfect slammed low on the rims. Just make sure everything is pushed out to the fender and you'll be all set.

yeah, my wheels are right at the fender. I'd like to pick up a sportec kit, but god knows when they'll be distributed.

thanks a lot tkman. I will definitely have to think about it since I'm lazy and always take it to the car wash..hahha. I thought at the car wash, they just cleaned the rims with soap and water just like the rest of the car. Wait are you talking about all car washes or just the $3 ones at the gas station
