G35 Sedan Clone by Toyota?!?!?!

I saw one of these from a ways away and thought hey, it's another G35 in DUluth, I thought I was the only one... then I found I was wrong... It was a toyota avalon... Did they steal our design? Judge for yourself.

That rear end looks awful familiar. and the grill might and well be the same... Isn't imitation the highsest form of flattery...

Your tail lights and the avalons taillights are very similar. the grill is also very similar, and I agree, it is one of the nicest avalons ever made.

I don't think it's easy to mistake it for a G35, but there are definitely design cues that are similar. That happens, though, in every category with several brands.

It was from a long ways away, you know what they say "good from far, but far from good". I just think it is great that Nissan/Infiniti is progressive enough that other companies take design cues from them and not the other way around. I am trying to point out how great it is to own a G, other companies are taking cues from the success of our cars, I think it is great.

I think it could be argued that the G35 is a copy of the previous generation lexus GS. In the end, everything looks a bit like everything else. I have also heard it mentioned that the G35 is the sedan Porsche would make. If you took a silly putty 911 you could stretch it into a G35

I don't know what the Austin Martin looks like, but the Aston Martin Vanquish's front with the lights and the hood (not the grill) kinda resembles the G.

I test drove one of these on my way to buying the G. to me, it looks nothing like the G. I was intrigued with the numbers it had (on paper) and thought it might be a contender during this recent new car purchase.

It drives like a reasonably quick but very large refrigerator. The dash is so big that you could play handball against it as you go down the road. I felt like I was driving an old-fogey car even though there was muscle available under my right foot. It was quiet and smooth, but rolled like a soft French pastry when pushed on an on-ramp.

Great car if you're 60, which is the average age of the Avalon driver. This car will lure some younger buyers, but in person it looks nothing like a G to me. I liked the car and added it to list of possibles to buy if I live to see my retirement (around age 80 perhaps). LOL..

I saw the Avalon Sport the other day and it did catch my eye. It didn't look to bad at all.
