Nothing more than the will to want to do it. No certifications is required for club races and HPDE.
E_K,
Why aren't you coming out with us this coming Friday at Buttonwillow???

Working night shifts at the hospital now. Plus my rear tires are almost gone, so I gotta get a setup for the track before I can seriously do this. At least my wife approved my suggestion of buying another set of rims/tires.
ChicagoX,
Excellent write-up! You had me chuckling out loud. Thanks for the entertainment and keep the stories coming. This is what REAL racing is all about. None of this street crap. Good, clean track fun.

Great write up! The thing I can't get over is the fact that you have OEM suspension. Just imagine the car lowered a little with better shocks and you getting a little more experience on the track. WOW! A story like that reminds me of why I got this car. It is a true sports SEDAN. With the heart of a sports car and the utility of a sedan, Infiniti hit a home run with the G.
RichK- I see a Tein/EDFC setup in my future......Riffster's car was pulling 1.12-1.17G's with his corner-weighted EDFC'd coupe in the Carousel.....unbelievable!!
dklau33, Clint: I will be all over some HP+ pads for the next event. Thx for the rec.
jmcumming- there was a blue RX-8 running in a different class, so I didn't lap with him. He was a very nice guy and very knowledgeable about his car. There was a 3rd gen RX-7 powered by a Chevy LT-1 who made you think the world was coming to an end whenever he passed by.
E.K.- The 5AT performed flawlessly. I ran in D the first 2 sessions, then switched over to MM for the rest of the runs. I could have used some Grounding Gear to reduce the delay between request and acutation, but no probs overall.
SixFive- I'm still working on a surprise for the East Coast boys.......

Curious about MM do you feel it improved your times?
I would think the best thing in MM is holding onto a gear through a corner,
rather than Auto uoshifting too soon on you??

DAm if this isn't a $4000 weekend for me the next time you guys run RA. Not to mention the new suspension and wheels/tires/brakes/rotors/cats/ecu/y-pipe so I can hang with you. Sounds like awd and great brakes can be all it takes to take a vette at that track. What is the prevalant turn type over there? Man that sounds fun!

I wouldn't say that. The driver in the vette that was slowing Chicago down was probably a newb driver being it was the novice class. If it was a good experienced driver in that vette I bet you it would have been a whole other story.
