Intelligent Key is nice

So I went a little golfing earlier and walked with some buddies to my car to put away the bag in hte trunk. I forgot I had put the keys in my golf bag and to my surprise when I tried to close the trunk lid, the trunk did not lock and the car beeped. Just thought I'd share this, I thought it was pretty cool.

Yeah, if the smart key is in the trunk, it will not lock. If you shut the trunk with the key inside, the trunk will also pop open. Nice feature IMO.

Very cool features. Wish my coupe had this option.

Is this a feature of the premium package only, because I don't have the premium package. Is it the key or the key fob that actually does it?

The Inteli-Key option is part of Premium Package "C" on the sedans only. There is a unique FOB for this. As long as you have it with you, then you can unlock-lock the doors & trunk and start the engine without a key.

It really is a cool feature.

I've got it on my B package sedan, but yes.. it is by far my favorite feature. I also like the 280+hp, good suspension, and sweet wheels that came on it.. but the intellikey is really nice to have.

I'd settle for the sleek look of the remote. Much better than the regular Infiniti remotes, IMO.

I'm sure they'd make a bundle of money if they'd offer the new look remote to those of us with the old design.

I love my Intelligent key as well. I wish my house had an intelligent key.

I agree. Both the keys and the remotes are pretty basic.

I had a loaner for 3 days when I was getting some work done at the dealer and really missed the small nice features you get with the Premium Package, especially the Intelligent Key. I noticed the Bose system with the Premim Pacakge is much nicer than the normal one as well.

There were a lot of options in the premium package that I didn't need or want to pay for. Plus they didn't have one on the lot at the time.
Anyway I am happy with my car as is, without the premium package.

I love the Intelligent key feature, and is a neverending source of wonder and amazement for small children.

I actually wish that there was a more slimmed down version without the remote buttons. Maybe if there was something about the size of a Mobil speedpass fob with just the transmitter. A few times I have come out to my car to find the trunk button had been inadverently pressed. And who knows how many times it might have unlocked/locked without my knowledge. Or the times I've hit the horn button while washing the car. Maybe I need to retire my tight leather pants.
