G35S Base Model Stagger Tire?

http://www.infiniti.com/content/mode...,22756,00.html

Wheels
Base Model 5-spoke 6.5" x 16" aluminum-alloy wheels

Leather Model 6-spoke 7.0" x 17" aluminum-alloy wheels

Leather 6MT Model 5-spoke 7.0" x 17" aluminum-alloy wheels

Tires

Base Model 205/65R16 V-rated all-season performance
235/50R17 V-rated all-season rear tire
Leather Model 215/55R17 V-rated all-season performance

Leather 6MT Model 215/55R17 W-rated all-season performance

So that mean we can stagger our tire with out the worry of VDC confusion?

Also, Look like the V6 engine configuration is inferior to I6 engine configuration interm of smoothness, any comment?

That's got to be a mistake.

That's funky. The base model has 16" rims all the way around. That has to be a typo. Maybe they were trying to indicate the 6MT version had 235's in the rear? I don't know. I'll have to double-check one of the 6MT's next time I'm at the dealership, but I don't think they're putting 235's on these cars from the factory.

It's worth knowing that 215/55R17 and 235/50R17 are near dead-on accurate equal diameters ( 0.2% difference, or 1 extra revolution per mile), so the different diameter problem probably wouldn't be an issue with these two tire sizes -- but why not just run 235/50R17 all the way around?

Re: G35S Base Model Stagger Tire?

as far as your I6/V6 question, yes the I6 does run smoother

if you doubt that go test drive a beemer. but the V6 VG30DE/VQ35DE are the two smoothest six cylinders ever

one of the top ten engines six years in a row see motor trends review.

Nissan uses liquid filled engine mounts in the G/350/altima/maxima/etc which means unless you know your s**t you won't be able to tell the difference.
