Question Ok guys, Popcharger or Stillen High-Flow Airbox.

Ok guys, I want to add the crawford plenum to my car and I have a Z-tube already. I have two questions:

#1) For the Crawford Plenum, do I need a spacer or what??? Can someone explain the difference between the Plenum and a spacer. To my little understanding of this, the spacer just adds like 3/8" space and the plenum actually adds HP???

Do I need both a plenum and a spacer?

#2) I already have the Z-tube but I was wondering which was better between a JWT pop-charger and a Stillen High-Flow airbox. Stillen claims that their cold air box gives 11 HP to the sedan at 6, 100 rpm.

Also, I have read that several members here don't like the whistling sound of the popcharger. Also, about the plenum and spacer, can someone explain if I need both of those?

Dont believe the hype. 11HP from a filter box? Nope, aint gonna happen. There should be a law against those kinds of claims.

The plenum vs. spacer thing is pretty easy. Go for the spacer. If the plenum guys are right and the front 2 cylinders are starved, then the spacer fixes that. The spacer also adds volume to the entire intake, is cheaper, and retains the intake slope to dissipate harmonics from the reflection back from intake valves slamming shut 13 times/second.

The 1/2" version works very well. It takes a few days for the ECU to understand what it is dealing with, but once it does, the car pulls hard. Doing the ECU reset is useless, just bolt it on and then drive like hell. It will learn all it needs to know.

i wouldnt say that it would add that much hp. but it sounds freakin awesome, you will hear that whistling sound though. at WOT you probably will get minimal gains but not as quoted.

RyansG35, I presume that you are referring to the pop charger right?

~Thanks.

So does the spacer add around like 3-4 HP to the wheels or something a little better?
