Anybody have trouble with brake warranty

Last week I had the front wheels off and noticed that the front brake pads are almost gone. I can't complain really as I got 25,000 miles out of them. I know that they are warrantied for 36K. When you went to your service advisor did they give you a hard time about replacing them?

Had no trouble at all getting mine replaced, they checked them at my last service and they were just under 3mm, so they replaced the front pads/rotors, don't get why they had to replace the rotors, I'm sure they could have been turned, but hey, it's their dime!

Some dealers seem to be more friendly on that than others. I took mine in to get at least the pads replaced. They were very adamant about the pads being under 3mm for them to replace them. According to the dealer I still have 6mm left and they will not replace them period. He quoted the infiniti policy on that which says under 3mm will replace. not sure if some dealers are more "penny pincher" than others because I know of people on here that have had their pads replaced and they were not under the 3mm minimum.

Not sure why any dealers would be better or worse on the 3mm, unless you are getting very near the 36k mark and you've been a good customer. There's really no reason to replace them sooner if you have > 3mm. Unless the dealer is doing you a favor 'cause you are very close to the expiration of your warranty.

I just got the fronts replaced at 20k under warranty. My dealer has treated me well enough that I think there's a decent chance they will do me a favor and replace them again just under 36k - but I'm basing that on the fact they've treated me very well over 2 years, not because I think they should.

If there is no retrofit for the '05 pads/rotors available at the time, I will likely go aftermarket for my first out-of-warranty brake replacement. Might as well get a pad that doesn't dust so much!

awful time! like puling teeth! my dealer is really bad about brakes. kearny mesa , btw! ive been in 4 ttimes because of my brakes, and they argue with me that g35 brakes make noise and there is nothing they will do for me. if i wanted to sound like a beater coming to a stop at every single light i would have purchased an american car. its not cool the amount of noise coming from my brakes. love to go, hate to stop.

is it 3MM of total pad left or 3mm left on the wear bar. Here are some pics I shot of my pad about two weeks ago.

It seems silly they woudl want you to get so dangerously low on pad. Most people would wait too long which would guarantee you destroy the rotors when the metal portion of the pad starts contacting it
