expected changes for '06????

Does anyone know of the expected changes for '06? I am looking pretty hard at an '05 6MT sedan, and I'd hate to pull the trigger only to have major changes on the '06s.

Thanks for the input,

Andrew

Major changes came in 05, I expect little or nothing new on the 06s.

I would consider the 2005 to be very minor cosmetic/hp changes. Maybe major changes will come in 2007.

I wonder if we'll see another refresh in 07 and then a redesign in 09. It seems the G is selling well enough that they could put off a total redesign til 09.

They will probably up the power by 07... All Gs will have to have at least 300 ponies to be able to compete in the class. The compression ratio of the engine is 10.3:1. They could bump it up to 11:1. Claims have been made that the internals of the 3.5VQ can handle as much as 450 HP. Some more minor interior changes would be nice..

That is what I am thinking. The 2005 changes have been corrections to complaints (interior, mainly)

Hmm. New hood. New bumpers. New lights. Completely overhauled interior.
Horsepower bump. New wheels & sizes. More optional packages make for more combos on the road. More bang for the buck on an already great value.

Compared to the previous model year "freshenings" and compared to what other manufacturers do from model year to model year, (compare an 04 TL and an 05 TL, or an 04 to an 05 330i) I'd call the 05 changes significant. If you want to compare them to a complete re-style, then you have a point when you say the changes are minor.

Honestly, if it looks like that, I may as well go out and buy a Mitsubishi Galant, regardless of how much HP/TQ the 07 may/will have....That ***-end is horrible. Front----ok, but damn, the rear is disgusting.

I do not consider the changes made to the 05 interior to be of the "minor cosmetic" variety and a 38 hp increase is not minor numerically-a 5 hp increase is- however one could argue that the hp change is, in reality, minor according to the seat of ones pants dyno. My guess for 06 is another new color and 1 or 2 truly minor cosmetic changes and for 07 there will be a major body style change to mimic on a smaller scale the design of the M and a new interior design somewhere in between the current G and the new M.
