Anyone remove the front plate and plug holes?

Hi all,

Where I live, a front plate is not required... yay! I just got my G35x (black) on Friday, but it had a front plate mount already screwed on since the car was shipped in from Ontario, where front plates are mandatory...

I asked the dealer to remove this and he said he would and have the holes plugged up... but how bad would this look on a black car?

Please advise... Thanks in advance.

Hal

It doesn't look bad. Much better then having a plate. I just did mine with plugs from www.bumperplugs.com......YEAH VERY OVERPRICED!!! They are designed for Porsche's but a hole is a hole! I had to enlarge the stock hole a bit to get the plugs to push in easily, but well worth it!

Sorry this is the best pic I have.

MY BAD - just noticed this was in the sedan forum!

When I got my G sedan (used), it had a previous NY owner and had a front plate. I am in FL and there is no front plates like you.

The original owner had taken good care of it and the front piece was still in the trunk (with all other paper intact). I followed the manual and took the front piece (take out the screw and push the plate in).

I have attached some pics and you can see that the color of the front bumper is a little faded than the center piece.

I always though it was wheat as the color is so. I know it is not BLACK or gray (did not wanted that combo, specially black in black). May be it is called something else ... will have to check my manuals for the exact color description. But it is damn close to wheat, kinda beige.

I have posted some pics for ref. You know the exact name of this color ? may be for 2003 the color was called something else.

willow is the name of your interior color. black, the only other choice available for 2003, is named graphite.

Thanx....changed my signature also.

Now I remember what I did... I looked at the 2005 options and the interiors available are wheat, graphite and stone for black exterior
