Frank, is the kit dropping the filter near thebottom of the engine bay? I really don't want any water issues.

K&N tested a CAI (cold air intake) and found that it actually lost hp with a cold air intake.
Projected cost is not solid yet, but should be at the $200. range. It's not a complicated kit, it has just taken time to do it correctly.
I'm looking for a Southern California Manual transmission sedan. Please call me if you may be available.....

Im kind of confused..but then again.. Im pretty stupid.. anyhow.. a pic i saw of the FAI looks just like a CAI.. both get air from the bottom near the fender... so ... where's the difference?

FWIW, K&N has shown me nothing for a long time now. The last kit I got from them was for my 1997 GMC Z71 and it was an abortion. I got the vollant kit and it rocked. My 03 Z71 has the MAC kit, my 87 Mustang has the MAC kit and my Wife's 02 Maxima has the Frankencar kit (If Steve made a kit for the G35 I would get it in a heartbeat, but he hasn't done one yet), so be leary of K&N's quality and research b/f you buy.

I would like to see pics of the finished product and dyno numbers. What does it cost? Is this the same CAI that was posted in the FA Board? If it is, it looks pretty nice.

i talked to frank on the phone who hooked me up with K&N. they are testing the FAI on my car as i type. I am picking it up tomorrow with the FAI installed and with the before and after dyno charts on my seat. i will definitely post it and my impressions. the guy mentioned unofficially that i should be expecting a 10 hp increase, but no guarantees. cant wait to find out tomoorrow. if there is a meet in SoCal, id be glad to go and "show off" (muahahaaa) the new addition.
