Does it hurt the engine by reving it up and then letting it come down by itself?

Hello all,

Just a quick question and wants to know if it hurts the engine doing that. Coming from driving manual all my life and I love the sound of engine/exhaust by reving up the rpm when I drive, let's say going about 40mph on 2nd I would just let it slow down by itself. I like that humming noise. Obviously, with my g35x, since's it's auto, I would need to use manumatic to do that. Does it hurt the engine doing that? I mean if you leave it in D, you will never hear this noise because it'll upshift for you the second you let go of gas. Can't wait till I connect the z-tube and see if it sounds better

Probably not too bad for it, but you're better off not reving too high, and slowing in a higher gear while using the brakes.
