Squeaky g35

Hi,

I am experiencing some squeak coming from the passenger side, sounded like glass against rubber or leather against leather. I'm not really sure, has any one experienced this? I took mine to Infiniti dealer and they can't duplicate the squeak. I swear I heard the squeak, but when on the test drive with the service advisor, no squeak (suck!!).

I found these two TSB:
Service Bulletin Number: ITB02028
Date of Bulletin: 04/02
Component: VISUAL SYSTEMS: GLASS: WINDSHIELD
Summary:
SOME VEHICLES MAY EXHIBIT A SQUEAK, CREAK OR RATTLE NOISE COMING FROM THE BASE

Service Bulletin Number: ITB02028A
Date of Bulletin: 09/02
Component: VISUAL SYSTEMS: GLASS: WINDSHIELD
Summary:
INFORMATION PERTAINING TO A SQUEAK, CREAK, OR RATTLE NOISE COMING FROM THE

If any one has a copy of the detail please let me know on where to get it.

Thanks,

Re: Squeaky g35

The best way to get your car to squeak at the dealership is to take it there cold... on a cold morning is good... when its cold the plastics get harder and shrink causing things to loosen up and squeak more. That is my one issue is that my car has multiple squeaks... drives me nuts. When its cold out, the back window and the front window both make noise- the back is squeaky like plasic rubbing, and the front is a lower, kinda clicky rattle.. .almost as if its coming from the hood. Oh, and then when the air conditioning is on a fairly high setting, the center console will squeak from the vents making the plastic there so cold... but it seems to be lessening as the summer goes on. It's just so frustrating to have such a new car that sounds like its getting so loose and rattley.

There is a TSB fix for the front window rattle. Comes from the base of the windshield I believe.

My only squeak seems to be coming from the rear. Noticeable from a dead stop and also on the 1-2 shift. When the car transfers weight is when its audible. Very annoying, anyone have suggestions?

My tt 300zx had a squeek that drove me nuts. A tipster said the hood latch needs grease - it worked.

My G35 used to squeak in the front, but that was fixed. Now it is squeaking somewhere on the rear deck. Of course it did not squeak the last time I had it in for service and I did take the car in when it was cold. Until the next time the car goes into service, I will have to turn up the stereo!

Re: Squeaky g35

I just found a new rattle in my car, the subwoofer vibrate, even with medium base music. My front door handle also rattle when this happen, although very light. At least this I can duplicate at the dealership by replaying the song, squeaks are header. Thought I buy 2003.5, that squeak problems are solved, guess not, or maybe because this is the 1st year for 6MT. Oh well, at least it's fast.

Re: Squeaky g35

My sedan has had a noise like something tapping the driver's door glass. TSB 02021A was already applied at the factory, I have a 2003.5. The dealer applied TSB 02057 but that was not successful. Finally, a technician/engineer from Nissan in SoCal flew up to the Bay Area to inspect the problem. After having the headliner removed, he noticed that several body pieces in the roof near the door opening were not properly spot-welded. The car is now at a body shop for repairs. Hopefully, this will fix the problem. I was told that this is not the only sedan with this problem. I am very happy that Nissan has the desire to correct this problem, just that it took 6 weeks and 4 visits to 2 dealers. I mention this to help you find and correct your noise.

To BobbyD and EticketRide: My car also had a clunking noise in the trunk area. This again was traced to improperly installed or welded panels. I can only suggest that if your first dealer is not responsive then take the car to another dealer. Also, calls to Infiniti's Customer Support will help to expedite matters.

There have been a couple minor noises in the front seat areas which I quickly fixed with some foam weatherstripping. Other than that, the car has been as solid as a rock.

Re: Squeaky g35

I sometimes have a rattle in the front of the car. I had someone ride with me and it turns out to be the glasses in the glasses holder mounted on the ceiling. Also I had a squeak coming from the rear deck. That turned out to be coming from the child seat. The seat has a metal clip that connects to a hook or latch on the rear deck. The two metal hooks/clip squeak if not tight enough! Hope this helps some of you....

Re: Squeaky g35

There is a TSB for the rear deck rattle, have your dealer apply the fix to your car.

As for the squeak where the car makes the noise during weight transfer at even slow speeds, I had the same problem and the dealer found the issue to be a loose weld/bolt on the rear seat back. Email me at nick.cozby@anheuser-busch.com if you need more details on it.
