Radio Complaint
Aight so I was looking through the manual to see how to get the text on the radio to go across faster? I dont have satelite, but some radio stations have song names. The text is so slow you dont even know what its saying. Its like you have to wait 2 minutes just to see the rest of the title. Any suggestions....anywaaayy. I came across the fact that the Gs have Speed Controlled Volume. So I turned SCV on high, but the difference seemed minimal when stopped and speeding. Anybody experienced this?
The volume is supposed to go up as you go faster to compensate for the noise of the car. Did you mean the volume sounded too low as you went faster or did you mean that it sounded the same at a stop and at speed (what the radio is trying to do)?
I don't know anything about the scrolling-sorry.

As for the SCV - never used it. Hubby turned it off and I just haven't turned it back on. Hopefully someone will have some insights.
The SVC is pretty subtle because G's tend to be on the quiet side of the curve when it comes to cars on highways. I was recently in a Chevy Sebring rental that had something like SVC and it would blast the music at anything over 50MPH, but that car was *loud* on the highway. I'll mess with SVC in my G later (I have it off), but I would guess it's just a couple dB, because the interior is generally pretty quiet.

I dealt with this in my Pacifica since there were times when it would "stick" and times when it was wrong or didn't work at all. As for satellite radio the display (for XM at least) doesn't scroll. Hope that helps some.

SCV sucks, in my opinion... It doesn't just affect volume, it affects equalization too in a very negative way when it comes on. Instead of SCV try installing some speakers all around and a couple amps. Oh yeah and a sub.

BTW, had the speed sensitive volume thing too. It was worthless. You can ask my wife, I seem to be a little hypersensitive to all things aural, and this head unit had no transition whatsoever. It would just jump decibels, up or down, depending on the speed of the vehicle. When I say jump, I mean like a good 20% difference either way.
My old Chrysler 300M didn't have the option, and I'm not sure if the wife's pacifica had the option either.
Either way, I've never been impressed with it.
Don't mean to continue this thread hijack, but.... Just wondering if any of you have seen one of those Lexus Taurus's?
I have. Chased one down in my ex's parents ES300 about 10 years ago.
Think black mid-80's taurus (from the robocop movies) with a Lexus gold pack on it. Frikkin kewl ride!
LOL!
Always wondered, who they think they're foolin?
