How to accelerate the fastest...

I know this has nothing to do with G's, but, my Mom has an 02' Infiniti I35. Which way is better for a faster take off from stand still???? One, by flooring it, or by going down on the gas 1/4 way then when you get to say about 4000-6000 rpm then floor it? I ask because, from previous experiences, by going down on the gas 1/4 way then you get to about 4000-6000 rpm then floor it, I take off much faster then flooring it from the very start. Have tried that out on my Father's 02' BMW X5 3.0i, and the car I drive, 1993 BMW 525i. I'm 18, and going to college in the fall, that is why I drive their cars by the way!

P.S. Just to say, my Father recently sold his 1993 Mazda RX-7 Twin Turbo MT, with a Peter Ferrell, 4 inch exhaust. That thing gets out...my gosh...my friend was so dumb and wanted to race me in his 1992 Honda Accord....was at least three cars infront of him in first gear.

I'm confused....

Are you asking what the proper way to launch the G35 is?

In an auto I think the fastest way to get out of a dig is to hold the brake hard and accelerator slightly at the same time to get the RPMs up. On green release brake and floor accelerator.

I was playing around in a parking lot yesterday trying different launch techniques.

my last trip to the track led to terrible 60' times. 2.3s and 2.4s

Did I mention the nasty wheel hop caused my too much spin!!!

What seems to work well has been a 4K RPM launch while feathering the clutch. By doing this, I can get a seemles power delivery with a small amount of wheel spin.

Launching at 3000 or lower and featehring the clutch would still result in a small power dip (or lag) before the motor would pick up again.

I'll have to try it at the track sometime.

Your father must have a pretty sizable life insurance policy on you. Next he'll be taking you golfing in a thunder storm.
