Wider fenders?

Has anybody had the rear fenders made wider to allow for wider wheels? I talked to a body shop and they told me it would be around 2500 to cut out the old and fabricate a new extended fender. Is there a wide body kit out there that would be a little cheaper? I currently have 19x10 rear wheels with 255/35/ZR19 but would like to go 275 without rubbing.

With a 45mm offset and rolling the fenders you wouldn't have a problem with tire rubbage on a 275. On mine I use a 35 offset 9.5 wheel with a 275. After I rolled the fender I didn't have any rubbing problems.

WOW, from the pics, it sure looks like it would rub, I guess looks are deceiving. So your 9.5" doesn't rub at all... is the tire really close though?

Just wondering if you've had any adults in the rear while driving as well... always a good test for rubbing.

Thanks in advance, great looking sedan!

As the suspension moves it produces enough negative camber to tuck the wheels in on big hits. About a week ago I the car loaded up up with 4 adults and one kid. I was weating it but after we got to our destination I checked the tires and wheel wells and now rubbing. Keep in mind I did roll the fenders

Fenders
So far I have not noticed any rubbing with my 19x10 but i only have 255 series tires. I put one tire up on a curb to see how much space i have between tire and fender which was about 4mm. I have decided to have a pro body shop cut out the old fenders and have some new ones fabricated and made about 2 inches wider. I plan to have a custom paint job done on the the car any.

OK, I gotta ask. What exactly do they do when they roll fenders?

Keep us posted on your progress. I, for one, am very curious to see how it turns out.

Bend the inside lip up, I think.

They either bend or cut the inside fender lip to give you another 1/2" or so.
