G and CTS

just curious if anyone has ever messed around or raced a CTS? This guy at my work place has an 05' CTS 3.6L V6 (255HP), and says dusts Gs all the time. I researched and the Gs not only have more HP but they are lighter than the CTSs. So, is my co-worker lying? lol

There is an article in this month's automobile mag that compares the CTS, G35S, and the 3 series....

The G35 is faster!

With regard to the 05, he is definitely mistaken. Tell him his car looks like a kitchen appliance and that he should have bought the CTS-V.

Sweet. I would run over my grandma for a CTS-V but wouldn't cross the street for the CTS. And they both have an interior (particularly the dash) that belongs in an old S-10 pickup truck.

Bring him round, throw down, and teach that lyin b1tch a lesson.

Funny you should ask.

Wednesday afternoon I “toyed” with 05 CTS.

“Toying”: (at all times G in 6th, never once downshifted and I always gave CTS approx 50 car length lead before playing catch-up, all speeds/lengths are approx., only 2/3 other vehicles on hwy).

10 mile open and straight stretch of 2-lane Interstate.
I was doing 80-85 in fast lane.
Noticed fast approaching CTS in rear-view mirror.
Before CTS could high-beam or overtake from right - I politely signaled and moved to right lane allowing CTS to pass w/o having to slow down.
Let him go.
Floored the gas pedal, top speed 100, caught him – 4 car length back, moved right-lane, let him go.
Noticed CTS accelerate harder.
Floored the gas pedal again, top speed 110, caught him, 4 car lengths back, moved right-lane, let him go.
Noticed CTS accelerate even harder.
Floored the gas pedal again, top speed 116, caught him*, 4 car lengths back, moved right-lane, let him go.
* Noticed the guy desperately looking into his rear view mirror – I guess trying to figure out what I was driving.

CTS may have been a wannabe driver. I know that car is fast. Faster than our G? I doubt it.

Does anybody know what the Speed-limiter is on 05 6MT Sdn?

So what was the final outcome in the Automobile mag article? Did they give the G the nod or the 3 series. I imagine the CTS was last on the list.

I know the max speed the automatic g35x can go to 150mph. And it has a 280hp. The manual just might b a little higher. If u wanna no more info about the cts and g35, look at the Moter Trend Mag for this month. The g35 is better all around, more hp, better accleration... =]]]]
