Engine sounds very loud when driving over 60 miles
Engine sounds very loud when driving over 60 miles
Hi,
I have been noticed when my car goes over 60-65 miles/hour, the engine sounds very loud! It would sound like you driving your car against the strong wind (50-60mles/hr wind). Any comments would be appriciated!

The side mirrors then to contribute to the wind noise. You can alwasy do the window/sun roof check and make sure they are all full closed.

No. All my windows are all rolled up for sure, I checked. This has happened to me 3-4 times already. I have a AT, bought back in late Feb'03, have about 1500 miles on it.
I also put my comments in another forumn, and so far I have received these comments:
"..If its a sedan, I believe it has a clutch cooling fan, as opposed to the electric ones on the coupe.
The clutch may have seized, causing the fan to spin faster than needed, not likely on a new car, but possible.
WITH THE ENGINE OFF, try spinning the fan by hand, if it won't spin, its seized."
"..Yeah, the clutch fan in the front of the engine "can" sieze and stay on all the time. The car will make a whooshing sound when revved up. Try just revving the car quickly up to about 5000 rpm's. If it is very loud, then it is most likely the fan."
What do you guy think? If this does not go away, I probably get the tech to check it when I get my first oil change.

pdgc35,
I also have a 5AT. Mine has 22,000 miles. It's quiet at 80-90 mph.
Take it to the dealer ASAP!
