Fricking Body Shop Bloooows
Fricking Body Shop Bloooows
THey did more damage to my car in 2 weeks than I have done in 2.5 year stretch of ownership. My car had one door ding and a spot on the front fender from a rock chip when I turned it in. I had to write a 2 page checklist for them to correct everything after recieving my car yesterday. I had some body work done on the passenger side quarter panel. It was cleaned for turn-in and we did a quick walk around - thank god.
DO NOT USE STERLING AUTO BODY IN PHILLY
1) They left tar on the rear deck felt from re-installing the glass.
2) They left scratches on the bumper near the wrap around as thought it was resting on the floor leaning on a wall uncovered and scratched near both sides of the lisc. plate.
3) Car width scrath on the roof panel parallel to the glass where he rested the glass panel on the roof.
4) Scratch and dirty fingerprints (prob from a chunky wedding band) on the driver door panel
5) Scratch on the roof panel - 3 deep short ones from resting a tool or something on the hood
6) Adhesive left on the c pillar next to a long scrach that runs down the C pillar on the driver side. It looks like he used a cloth to clean the adhesive and just ran along the dirty sticky spot and then continued down the pillar. Where ever there are streaks from the cloth being a bit wet - there are scratches - long and nasty ones.
7) Dirty seats in a willow interior - i clean the seats every weekend and they were immaculate when I turned it in - I may be expecting too much here...
8) The glass and trunk deck have a huge gap on one side and a small gap on the other. Needless to say some grubby tar handed dillmunch will be putting his paws on my G again and he better get it right. UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Just spoke to the production manager and he said it all should be handled quite easily. He mentioned something I forgot to which was the leading edge of the spoiler having been chipped up from poor handling or on-the-ground storage. And he's fixing the rock chip that is rusting on me which is not his fault but he's taking care of it. He'd hate for me to let Allstate know he's not accomodating his clients and hopefully there will be no complaining on mu part.
We'll be trying this again tommorrow. If they can't fix it the first time, thank God they realize they could have done a better job and are agreeable about the corrections! Most of this was probably done by the glass guy they hired as a sub and they probably never checked his work as it was done at the last minute yesterday before delivery.

Sorry to hear. I hate leaving any of my rides with the dealer/body shop/sevice for ANYTHING - always have.
Hope they make it right and you're happy heading out tomorrow.
How's that T-Reg treating you?

Thanks guys - the T-reg is a supreme ride. It needs about 300 more horsepower and makes me feel like I'm an civic when I get back to the G. The T-reg is like an A-8 or Phaeton inside..it's incredible. With 3 layers of weather stripping and soundproofing galore, wood and stainless everywhere, tons of room, great looks and terrfic low center of gravity for wonderful stablilty and awesome rigidity, I can't say much bad about it. Should have had a v-8 tho. I wish, for some wierd reason that we had gotten the new Grand Cherokee 5.7 Hemi Limited. Less $ and a hell of a lot of power. Although with a money rate of .00025 and 10% off msrp...we couldn't resist. After the head on collision my wife endured last May...she got what she wanted without resistance from me. It's a 5000 pound safety cage if there ever was one. Love it if that answers the question lOL
