AC Condenser replacement because of a hole

My AC stopped working. The dealership (Coleman Infiniti in Bethesda MD) says that a rock made a hole in the condensor and it's not covered in the warranty. They are charging me $950 for it.

Am I getting scammed?

Isn't the condenser near the firewall? Wouldn't the rock have taken out your car first LOL? I'd question them like you have nothing to lose but $900 bucks and then take it somewhere else if they hose you still.

Isn't most of the bottom of the car covered with a plastic shield? I don't see how a rock can fly up there hard enough to puncture medal. The hole come from somewhere so I can see where the dealer is coming from but I wouldn't take it. I would try to talk to as many managers as you can and maybe try another deal.

I would have them show you the damage. If it really was bad luck with a rock, you could claim it on your insurance.

maybe they mean a burning crack-rock that fell out of the pipe of the service manager.

You can see the condensor from the gap in the front bumper (2004 model). They showed me the condensor and it did look like a rock hit it.
