Need information on how to be eligible for VPP in California?

Hello To all, I am fairly new to the site. I plan on purchasing or ordering a G 35 sedan within 30 days. The reason for the wait, is because I will not have the funds available until then. I most likely want to order a 06, because in 30-45 days, I will probably not be able to find the car that I want ( 05 Slate, 6 speed, prem. package A, aero package preferably, no navi.). My wife and I do not work for a company that is afilliated with the VPP prgram, but I have read in this site of ways that a person can eroll. I have also searched, but did not find the information that I needed. If anyone knows of any way to enroll in the VPP program and any dealers in California that are very flexible in pricing, I would appreciate it. I just sple to a dealer in Southern California, that would sell a 05 sedan 6 speed for $1000 below invoice. Any help would be appreciated.

VPP is for employees of companies that do business with or are affiliated with Nissan. I don't know of a way around this. When I bought mine under VPP they even needed my employee number and called and verified my employment in front of me.

$1000 below invoice is actually pretty good. That is of course depending on all the "fees" they then apply on top of that. Then again, if it were me, I would wait on the 06.

Good Luck

Does anyone here have a good connection with a dealership in California. Aren't the changes for 06 very minor? I will probably want to order an 06. Does anyone know when the 06 prices will become available and when an order can be placed?

Do you know anyone that works for Nissan? That is how I got my G at the VPP friends and family discount. There are two levels of VPP. One is for the friends and family then the other is for the employee themselves (which is a deeper discount). The level for the friends and family is good, but it might be possible to get as good or even better deal negotiating.

I've been looking for someone who works for Nissan but unfortunately, after talking to my family, we don't know of any.

If anyone here would like to help me get a VPP number so that I don't get completely screwed by the local dealers (whom I have already talked to) I would be very grateful. If you’re near South-Eastern PA (specifically the Valley Forge area) then I would be more than happy to take you out to a nice dinner to cement a new friendship.

EDIT: I also have a question about dealer profit on VPP pricing. As I understand it, the dealer is eligible for a 5% kickback when selling a vehicle with VPP pricing. However, I'm not sure what that 5% is of. Is is 5% of MSRP, 5% of Invoice, or 5% of the VPP Sale Price? Also, does that 5% include the destination cost?

I have VPP eligibility, but right now the discounts offered on the '05 G sedan are much better without using the plan. (In other words, I'd pay more using the plan than if I just negotiated it myself.)

For employees of NNA and Affiliate-companies and their immediate family members, the VPP price is calculated as follows:

-Dealer invoice
-Minus VPP discount (Nissan 4.3% : Infiniti 3.58%)
-Plus dealer added options, Security Plus, etc.
-Plus destination and handling charge
-Minus applicable incentives
-Equals participant’s purchase price

For NNA and affiliate employee sponsored friends and extended family members and for NNA business associates, the VPP price is calculated as follows:

-Dealer invoice
-Minus VPP discount (Nissan 2.87% : Infiniti 1.65%)
-Plus dealer added options, Security Plus, etc.
-Plus 2.5% delivery fee of dealer invoice after VPP discount has been subtracted
-Plus destination and handling charge
-Minus applicable incentives
-Equals paticipant's purchase price

Yeah, but I'm looking at the G35x (no incentives)...

I understand that that is how the VPP pricing is determined. I also understand that the dealer is eligible for a 5% kickback (see below).

When a dealership sells a vehicle to you at the pre-negotiated price indicated above, it qualifies for a 5 percent delivery fee paid by Nissan North America, Inc.
Does anyone know what that 5% is calculated off of?

I too am in a situation similar to yours... Were you able to find a way to enroll in a VPP program?
Btw, I heard Riverside is one of the few so cal dealers to honor vpp...but if you decide to go with the 05 instead of 06, negotiating is better

scdgoofy, I would like to order an 06 G sedan. I will want to do so within the next 30 days. I do not watn an 05 because all of them have the drilled front bumper for the plates. In addition, I would prefer to order one to my specifications and not have anyone test drive it expect when it is PDI'd. Do you have a way to allocate a VPP pricing for me?
