Toyo vs. Michelin

I've read most of the tire threads and plan to replace my stock Bridgestone's on my '05 G35x with 235/50/17 tires. I am trying to choose among the following three types:

1. Toyo TPT
2. Michelin Pilot A/S
3. Michelin MXM4

The threads have a lot of good comments about the Pilots, one person enthusiastic about Toyo (but I'm not sure whether it is the TPT tire) and virtually nothing on the MXM4. I would appreciate thoughts and comments. My particular interest is ride quality more than handling, but want a good handling tire.

P.S. I'm not going to get the Avon Tech's because I have to order them from Tire Rack. I am not home during the day to receive a tire shipment and have no means of transporting them to a place to put them on.

Michelin has a $50 rebate right now, some "back to school" special (yeah I know it doesn't make sense)

...Maybe that will help you decide. <shrugs>

...Also, if it helps any... I had the Pilot Sport A/S's on a previous car (VW Passat) and they were good tires in the wet and dry, very responsive. They didn't last an incredibly long time though, I want to say around 24k miles, when everyone else was reporting much higher mileage than that. Of course, I do drive like a dimented ***-gobbler.

I had the Toyos and they had a vibration problem that could not be fixed. I have the Michs now and they are great...though they do not stick like the toyos.

I have the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. Have about 15k miles on them and have been very happy with the purchase. I've read reviews that say the these Michelin's are known for a "pull to the right" issue but never had any issues like that.

BTW, mwfan, you can have the tires delivered directly to a installer instead of your home or office. This worked out great for me because not only was the installer convenient for me but they also turned out to be a great shop and are doing all my maintenance service. On Tire Rack's web site go to Installation > Recommended Installers to find someone in your area.

I have the Michelin Pilot Sport II,They are great. Quieter than the stock ones,even though they are 245 x 35 x 19 & 285 x 30 x 19 .Cost more but well worth it.
