Clickin rear axles

My car has been at the dealer for almost a month now. I don't mind too much as I have a nice 05 with sport to drive but I do miss the 6mt and especially the Navigation in my car. I took it in because the right rear axle was making a clicking sound upon acceleration. Apparently the parts are on back order. The service tech told me that this is a major issue with the G35 and that they are having to replace a lot of axles and subsequently demand is high for the replacement part.

Has anybody else have this happen to them? Seems to me if it was a big problem, people on here would be bitching like crazy about it.

Mine clicked from a start or roll. Motorwerks in Barrington, IL repaired it in one day and, of course, I had a loaner to get me to the office and back.

Yup, the clicking rear axle is really annoying. Took me almost a month to get the parts to fix mine (in the shop right now)

Very common problem. It is annoying and the dealer will fix it. It does not comprimise performance and is not dangerous.

I had the dealer fix my clicking axles earlier this year. Glad I took care of it when I did, before the parts got scarce.

it is the rear axle bearings and basically what they are doing is they are replacing it with something better (obviously). I had that clicking noise twice and i have only had my car for 2 months, the parts have been on back other forever supposedly. I keep calling in every week asking if they got any in.

The tech said the sound comes from the outboard constant velocity (cv) joints. The entire axle assemblies were replaced with “revised” versions.

I've got the same problem. I hear the clicking on acceleration AND decleration. At first, I thought it was the jack rattling around. But, after I took it out, it was obvious that it wasn't the jack. So, I'm getting ready to make an appointment at the dealer. Just have to find the time. By the way, how is the jack supposed to be stored? I can never seem to get it back in place correctly and ended up leaving it in the spare tire well.

Yup. Mine are on order from frontier infiniti for about a month. I've just been drving mine around. The parts guy said the the revised bolts will be in next week or so...but no guarentees. does anybody think that driving around with the sound is bad for the car?

I got my car back from the dealer last week. They replaced the entire axle and wheel bearings. no more clicking. I hope this is a permanent fix as I would hate to have to pay this out of pocket once the warranty runs out.
