Problems with 3rd on 6mt

I have noticed that sometimes, maybe 20% of the time when upshifting into 3rd, I can feel something weird thru the shifter. Kind of feels like one gear is hitting another, before sliding in. It doesnt make any noise, but definetly a metal to metal feeling.
Has anyone heard of this before, I even get it when the clutch is absolutley 100% of the way in. Is there any adjustments to our clutches?

Thanks

I have something like that as well, I wrote it off the notchy feeling of the shifter. It almost feels like it gets stuck for a second before it falls into the 3rd gear notch. Is this what your experiencing?

I think I get the same thing once in a while but in other gears. I have no problem getting into gears, though. Nissan is known for notchy trannies so it's probably normal.

i dont know much about Infiniti trannies, but i have a 95 acura integra gsr also, and that grind(noise) started happening to me, first i thought it was a synchro, so i started double clutching and it stopped after about two weeks, but then two months after that my clutch went out.

My friend had the exact same problem on his '01 Type R. If he was in VTEC and shifted from 2nd to 3rd it would make a light grinding noise. When he took it to the dealer they told him, "That isn't normal driving, we aren't even going to check it out." He never went through a clutch, but he had to live with the noise. We assumed it was a syncro as well, but now that you say that you needed a new clutch it makes me think that maybe the type r clutch was strong enough to make up for the tranny problem.

That is exactly how it feels. Hapens at all different RPMs.

I have the same issue with my '04 6MT but I don't recall having the "problem" with my '03.5 6MT.

My car has done this since I first got it, I now have 4200 miles and it still does it. I don't think there is anything wrong, it's just the way the trans operates. I guess my take on this is if I don't experience any grinding noises when shifting I'm not going worry to much about it, it's got a 60,000 mile warranty.
