Dealer visit..Bad Service!

I went to the dealer today for an oil change. Good coffee and muffins but, bad oil change . I got home washed the car and went about my daily stuff. When I got home I could smell oil. I looked underneath the car and sure enough oil was leaking. I took a look at two spots where I parked the car and sure enough oil spots! It appears that I lost a good amount of oil. I don't know if I should even drive the car. The service department is closed on Sundays. Sales is open. I will call them tomorrow and see what they say. I had the oil changed at Competition Infiniti, Smithtown NY.

Use the dipstick and check the oil level. If it's in the safe range, you can drive it back to the dealership. If not, make them tow it.

It's also possible that what you're seeing is just some oil that they spilled in the engine compartment that's dripping away. If the dipstick shows that your oil level is full, then this is what I would assume.. but it couldn't hurt to have them get in there and double-check for you.

I betcha the tech didn't remove the underbody shield to get to the drain plug and oil filter. If that's the case, it's very likely you've got a mess of spilt oil under there.

Re: Dealer visit..Bad Service!

I have had my G for over a year now ... It is a great (fun) car to drive... But Infiniti's service has been BAD!!!

I had to take it back because of an oil leak after the last oil change performed by Nalley Infiniti (Atl)... I have been there four times for service and they have given my G back to me with new problems caused by them three of those times ...Which led to me sitting around and waiting for them to correct their problems... They did not even offer a free oil change or anything for making me wait ...

I have let Infiniti know they have lost a sale of a FX45 because of these POOR service experiences ... There is no way I will deal with taking two Infiniti's in for service.

Re: Dealer visit..Bad Service!

I bought my car at Herb Chambers Infiniti in Boston. Have had it in for a slight vibration at highway speed issue and oil change... so far so good they were great on both occasions.

Anyone else have good experiences? I am surprised because I would think Infiniti would be trying to catch up to and exceed Lexus in service... afterall part of the extra $$$ you pay for Infiniti over Nissan is supposed to be for better service.

Oh yea, the funny thing is this dealership owns a Lexus, Acura and Infiniti within a mile of each other. I have heard good things about this dealership's Lexus and Acura service ... I just don't see it at their Infiniti dealership.

Re: Dealer visit..Bad Service!

I picked my car up today. They fixed the oil leak. It was the drain plug so I was told. This dealer doesn't have a good rep. I guess I won't be goin there anymore.
