warning - dealer

alright. i just had a rotation today at 5300 miles. i had an alignment problem and my rear insides have gone much faster than the outsides. i told the dealer that my rear tires, the insides have lost too much compared to the outside of the tires. the guy says, " thats how the car is. it's supposed to sit like that for the ride. thats the reason we need to keep rotating your tires every 5k miles ". i said okay and left it at that. i knew in the back of my head, it was bull-sh-it. so i went to a mechanic and had them do an alignment. sure enough my rears were way off. so i got it fixed, got it printed, and am going to the dealer tomorrow and getting a check from them for not fixing my alignment. i told them there was something wrong with it and they just picked me off like a fly on the wall with the stupidest excuse ever said. my dad is going to bring hells angels on them tomorrow =]muahahaha! either they give me a check or i take them to small claims court. oh and by the way this is miller infiniti. do NOT work with Gene Lee. This is the second time I got stuck with him and both times he's screwed me. just to let you guys know. so if you think theres an alignment problem, don't trust anyone unless you get a printout. i knew this guy was lying to me, just because i'm a kid and "i dont know anything".. okay long day time to go. see ya.

I feel your pain man.

This is the second time my 1 1/2 week old sedan has been to the dealer for an alignment issue. It has 230 miles on it and it has pulled to the right since leaving the dealership with it. When leaving the dealership I never got onto any straight/non bumpy crowned roads. When finally driving on one I was pissed. Brought it in and they had it for a day. The service manager called and said that it was ready. I picked it up yesterday and it was even worse. Since the dealership was closing when I picked it up, I called this morning and spoke with the service manager. He stated that they aligned it to specs and it drove straight for him. I told him that my Ford Superduty with 36inch tires with 20 inch wheels drove straighter than this car. I would let go of the steering wheel and I would instantly be in the next lane. I had my wife drive it just to be sure she could duplicate it and she it did. My sales person came and picked it up and I told them to keep it until they get it right. The service manager acted like there was nothing they could do to fix this since it was in spec. If it is not fixed I will taking it to an alignment shop to get it fixed properly and them collecting a check. I want to get this alignment stuff straight before I put aftermarket wheels and tires on it and then if I have a problem Infiniti blaming my new mods. Anyone else here had alignment problems in their G??

yeah. screw the dealerships. we went today and talked to the service manager about my alignment problem. he said, i totally understand and i know for a fact that these cars are not supposed to "sit" like that. i don't know what our service guy was saying. and then we showed him the papers and the receipt. he told us, would you like the money for this alignment? we said, we would greatly apprecaite it. and boom. no questions no nothing. the service manager at miller infiniti is cool. he knows how to take care of his customers. just dont go to gene lee.

I kinda feel like it's ****ing towrd the ride side too but no too sure. I thought it was the way road was shaped( a little bit of slope ). Low profile tires are more likey to be affected with little bit of road condition changes so I'll see for a while. But in general, lower cars with low profile tires tend to get bald on the inner side.

Low profile tires tend to go bald but I don't think they go out on the inside first. Isn't it all fixed by alignment? plus i dont think series 45 tires are low profile, lol i remember hearing that certain cars, such as German (bmw/mercedes) have their rims slanted just a bit to improve handling, and thats why they go bald on the inside first than the outside. BUt our car isnt german, its japanese. i'm not sure if thats entirely true but correct me if i'm wrong.

yes, camber will affect the wear of tires. some camber is desired, to a point. our cars, if you look at the specs, do not require a lot of camber. any lowering will change the camber angle, and must be adjusted. if lowered too much, there may not be enough 'play' left to adjust, which is why people who lower their cars need an adjustable camber kit (i.e. stillen, kinetix etc...).

german, japanese is irrelevant. camber is camber. bmw and mercedes put more camber for better handling. a lot of sports cars come that way, especially british and italian cars. even a few japanese sports cars come that way too.

a lot of the cars with independent rear suspension will have uneven tire wear from driving and a lot of heavy load in the vehicle. even with the camber kits it won't help as much -- that is just the way the car will be

da_mayor - if i were you, i would not advertise that you work for infiniti in your sig... it's guys like me that already don't like you because of it. and that's not right. it's not your fault your brothers and sisters at other dealerships are money hungry, ignorant jacka$$es. the dealerships are giving infiniti a bad name.

but i'm not you. good luck. and thank you for your input.

G35s have bit of camber in back, even the sedans. I've got the G coupe springs on my G sedan and it is quite obvious I have lot more negative camber in the back and fractionally more upfront than stock.

With larger and wider rims/tires, like those used on the 05+ Sport Package, you're going to get more wear on the inside. It's just the nature of the beast. Ferraris, Vettes, 300ZXTTs, NSXs, BMWs, and nearly every other performance focused RWD car with IRS will wear out the inner portion of the tires quicker. Especially high performance rubber because it's softer. Expect to only get about 18-20K miles out of your tires.

Yea Infiniti dealers suck ***. I had to pay 3800.00 for a lawyer because I hit the service manager in the ****in face. Now I can't be within 200 ft of the dealership. To make this short it was over my squeaking brakes and I went up there for the third time and service manager cused at me and I took him out. I hope this ***** service manager reads this because he drives a coupe. And yea your still a bitch!!!!!!!!!!!!
