G35 or Licoln LS

Here's the problem, next week i will be buyin a sedan. Ive had my eyes set on a new G35 but its been a mess tryin to get Prem. Pkg A. I can get the base model for under 30, but i want dual climate, and memory seating. The dang sales ppl keep tryin to sell pkg B, and i could careless about the sport tune suspension. I drove the LS, what you guys think about this car, be honest..

Compare Apples to Apples. First have you driven both cars on the same day?G35 all the way!!! Prem packages in totally different than sport package. Check out Edmonds over all cost of ownership when comparing the 2 cars. The Lincoln LS is almost boring looking IMHO. I have had my G for 2 weeks now and I did some major comparisions and test driving. Good luck in whatever you decide

Used LS V8 are probably dirt cheap now. They are pretty rare unlike the G, which is everywhere. Never driven one though.

LS Sport V8 looks pretty sharp. I haven't driven one though. It all depends in what you're loking for. Luxury I'd go with the lincoln. Sporty performance with a touch of Lux, then go with the G. Reliability? Contrary to popular beliefs and what folks claim, both cars will have their fair share of problems which warranty will cover. Go drive them both see which one feels like you, and happy buying.
Don't worry I'm here to say what most other G owners won't admit or say.

Yea i drove both cars, bout the same power. I was lookin at 2004 fully equiped for 25,000. I know i could have compared a better car, but this is what im lookin at, both the cars are fast and luxury. Exactly what im wanting, i just got to get them for under 30, which i dont know why one deal will sell the G w/ pkg C except splash guards and a spoiler for 31, and the other doesnt think he can sell the pkg B for under 30. Something just aint right about that, C is 35,000 B is 33,000 sticker price.

I would disregard reliabilty, since it will likely be a toss up.

As gtbigup01 said, the Lincoln is probably luxury first, drive second, whereas the G is most definitely the opposite. One's a torque-y V6, the other is a fairly average V8, for once the G has the advantage in mpg, but the interior of the Lincoln is likely much nicer than the G (something it's constantly ragged on for). Asking here is like asking the converted, we all own G's because we love the way they drive. Drive both back to back and see how you feel about each. I'd imagine the Lincoln is kind of floaty, maybe a little heavy feeling, but will have that unmistakable V8 feel. The G is kind of heavy but feels much ligher than it is, handles really well, has good driver feedback, not a lot of under or oversteer... well you get the idea.

Let us know what you decide.

when I was looking for a replacement for my Taurus SHO I looked at the V8 LS. It's a decent car but it felt underpowered. I confirmed this a few months ago when i was at a stop light leading onto a freeway where the 2 lanes merge to one. the Guy in the LS took off like a bat out of hell and had the jump on me. By the end of the onramp, I had reeled him in and had 4-5 car lengths on him. The LS is a bigger car and it won't handle nearly as well.

I drove the LS V8 when it came out. It was too heavy, too small inside and in the trunk, and had terrible steering response. The other problem is that this is based on 6 year old platform technology versus maybe 3 years of the G.

And is that a bad or good thing? The platform part that is. A new platform is more prone to problems, isn't it? Verses one that is been around for a few yrs or so that have worked out the bugs.

Ive drove both the v8 and v6 LS . The v6 is better suited for the front drive . The v8 felt to heavy and was not as responsive .I think the G would hold value longer to . I just dont like front drive cars at all

Wrong, the LS is RWD, it's on the Jaguar S platform. LS Specs Personally, I like the G over the LS.
