Car wash discoveries
One of the problems with washing/wax is that you get to look closely at every square inch of your car. Today, I found two things that have me pretty steamed. The first is a door ding (and I was being so careful!). Anyone have any thoughts on those dent doctor type places that fix without the needs for filler/paint?
The other thing I found are some scuff marks on the plastic molding just under the left headlight. I don't remember brushing up against anything, but nonetheless they're there. Is there anyway to get rid of these?
My G is black, and both these things stand out enough that they will forever drive me crazy if I don't do something.
P.S. I had to go to the local Canadian Tire (Canadians are mandated to go at least once every Saturday!) just after discovering the door ding. I parked at the very, very far end of the lot where no one was parked. As I'm walking to the store, I notice a beater van park right beside my G, so close that the passenger in the van had trouble getting out
Frustrating!

you picked the wrong color to be picky about the paint finish. Black is by far the hardest color to maintain. We had a loaner for about a month while mine was waiting in the shop for a back ordered axle. The black paint looked horrible and this car had less than 4000 miles. It had water spots and all kinds of contaminents in the paint so just for $hits and giggles I gave it a good washing. Claybared the hood, roof and trunk then gave it a quick coat of zaino. This is what I ended up with.
I know I am ******* nuts for doing this work on a loaner but really I just wanted to challenge myself on something really messed up. What I realized in the end is that I am so happy I picked a Brillian silver car instead of black.

Shodog, did you charge them for the wash/wax?
Nice job though and I have to agree with you about being glad you don't have that much work to keep it looking respectable.

Definitely have one of the guys from the paintless dent removal companies come out and take a look at your ding. Trust me it is well worth it. I had about a 14" crease/dent on my truck and paid $160 for them to take it out. Looked as good as ever.
