Is this normal? A/C drone (2005)

When I first turn on the A/C, the compressor seems to drone for a few seconds, and then quiets down. It's kinda loud though. Loud enough where a passenger of mine once asked if something was wrong with the car when she heard it. A/C still works fine, though. Is this drone normal when the A/C is first turned on?

I don't think this is normal and I mentioned it today at my 12000km service. They couldn't reproduce the drone and said there is nothing they will do unless they hear it too. Does your A/C do this every time or randon?

I'm going to start paying more attention to it, but it seems to be everytime the car is started for the first time after sitting for a couple of hours. Just went to try it, and it did drone for a few seconds. Turned it off, and tried a couple more times...but no drones after the first time.

What has been your frequency with this drone? That's why I'm confused...it does it consistently when the engine has cooled down a bit...don't know if that's normal or not.

yeh i had that problem too in the summer, but it only makes the noise like you said after the car's been sitting for a couple of hours and then once you turn it off for like 10mins and start the ac on again it works fine

AC noise

My new G35X has a loud AC. And it produces a vibration at idle in my seat. Was told it was normal. Dealer said they contacted Infiniti and was told this.
