Intensepower Y-pipe!

Is it worth it guys? What kind of gains we looking at, 5-6 hp? Is there a difference between this and the other y-pipe, besides price? Is it legal? Will it give more gains then the pop-charger? And finally does it make loud noise, can someone in my car feel the noise, vibration?????????

thanks

Whenever you change the 'Y" you will feel a slight vibration through the gas pedal at about 11-1200 rpm because of you removing the stock, flex piped, 'Y" that absorbs that small bit of harmonic vibration. I run the 'pop chgr'. with a Stillen X-gen.II full cat-back system. The 'mods' are meant to work together to generate the best HP return. Keep in mind, however, that many of these ''mod' are suspect to how much power they actually make. It's all about making yourself happy. I don't know anything else about your system, as we no longer have sigs. so I can't tell ya what to expect. Legal? You're kidding right? Ya don't ever go over the speed limit, litter, or spit in public, I hope....lol Sorry, jbx 04' G35X, Brilliant Silver,"Padded" (Metal Matrix) by Stillen" "Full 'X' Cat-Back" by Stillen, "Aloomie Pedals" by Inf., "Popped" by Wolf, "Pullied" by UR,"Tubed" by Z,"D-Badged" by me, "Clear Cornered" by JDM, 05' "Tails" by Inf., "Tall Boy Plenum" by APS, well "Grounded" by Gordgee., 35% Silver Reflective tint. *****It ain't too much.........'Cause I'm too many

Actually that is incorrect. The Intense Power Y-pipe comes with flex joints. I got this Y-pipe and am happy with it. Good quality as far as I can see and bolts right up. As for gains, I don't know for sure 'cause I haven't dynoed the car but I definately feel the difference in the mid range to top end. The car just wants to keep pulling on the highway.

It's a great buy for the money. All the other y-pipes do essentially the same. They're more money because they come from Japan (most).

The Stillen Y-pipe is the only one that doesn't have the flex joints. Maybe that's what JBX was referring to.

Here is a pic.

Get it or pay twice as much for one thats been proven (Dynoed) with the gains listed for you.

The Intensepower Y-pipe has yet to be tested besided by consumers like Chico.

I went for it and ordered one already...waiting for it to arrive.

The now defunct NFC Motorsports had a Y-Pipe that didn't have flex joints either. I have one on my car. Have had no problems with it so far after about 2 years and 2 HPDEs.

JBX,

Are you experiencing vibration with the Stillen Dual?

Dave, What I'm getting is more of a 'harmonic buzz' @ just over 1100 rpm. up to about 1250 rpm, if that. I can barely feel it through my gas pedal, and even that only started after I had installed the 'lumi' pedals. I've inspected all fasteners up to, and past, the cats and, even the headers themselves. I've done this many times now in the thousands of miles that I've put on the system and .......nada. In fact, back in the mid-summer, when I installed it, you were the one (and only one) who had originally made me cognoscente of the possibility of getting some 'buzz'. Well, I did and apparently it's all good. Honestly Dave, I don't think most/anybody would even notice it.....it's that vague. I do luv the system and wish I had a way to get an accurate dyno on my X done to add some credibility to my 'butt' impressions (sorry, I couldn't resist...lol) There is a very famous custom/performance place near me ( http://www.idaautomotive.com/ ) that swears that they can get 'real' numbers off an AWD....so maybe I'll give it a shot (and them $300) and get 'er done. UBCool, jbx

Does the ypipe replace cats? does that mean there are no more cats? And final question, it gives good gains? Can someone estmiate like 5-6rwhp? Is it like getting a pop-charger or more?
