New Guy Here !

Hey wasup everyone. Im petor, i currently own a 2001 toyota celica right now but am planning to trade the car in at the end of the year for the g35 sedan. The color i am planning to get is white or red in a auto. I have some questions:

1. How does the G35 handle?
2. Is the sports package better then the OEM one?
3. If I decide to go with the sport package and fix up the suspension later will that matter by going this route?
4. If I get the regular suspension is it possible to get the sports package rims?

I did some research but i know all of you know better since I am a newbie to the site. Thanks again !

g35 handles extremely well, one of the best in its class easily
yes the sports package is better
no, it wont matter if you go that route, a lot of ppl do it
i almost 100 percent sure you cant just get the 18 sport package rims

the g is a very good upgrade from a celica, so congrats on your choice

I would highly recommend getting the standard suspension and then replacing it with a "real" sport suspension. I just finished replacing the dissappointing OEM "sport tuned" suspension on my brand new '05 and wish I hadn't wasted the extra money up front. The OEM sport suspension is a little firmer than stock, but it's still setup with some serious understeer (ICK!!!) and too much body roll. Get some nice aftermarket swaybars (<$300), 350Z H-Tech srings ($165), Tokico D-Spec struts ($500) and some decent tires ($800) and, then, you'll have an very nimble, tight handling sport sedan.

1. Its a smidge rough for my tastes. However, I come from the worlds of Jaguar and Lexus.
2. I personally don't like the extra features you get for the extra cost. The Aero package gives you some looks, and the sport suspension stiffens what I consider to already be a stiff suspension.
3. Nope. People trade suspensions around here fairly often.
4. It depends on your dealer. A dealer in Oklahoma offered me the wheels separate from the suspension. Dealers in Texas and Tennessee did not.

I have the 2005 AT Sedan, by the way. Standard suspension, premium package.

The sports package is only like $700 and it's the only way to get a limited slip differential. Any true sport handling car has a LSD. Do you really want to pay parts and labor to get an aftermarket LSD? I wouldn't.

I think the sports package is a bargin.

1/2. Car handles well even with the standard suspension. I have a 6 month old son so it's not like I'll be pushing the car to it's limits with him in the back. If I was single I probably would have opted for the sport.
4. Personally I'm not crazy about the 18s. Funny thing is I LOVE the 19" version of the same wheel on the coupe. I saw a white coupe with the 19s and they looked beautiful....maybe you can get the dealer to swap to the 19s.

no the ride hight is the same - the shocks/springs are firmer for sports package. also, for 03/04 sports package means ALU trim inside.
