The specs for the Bridgestone Turanza LS-Z is much better than the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S.

 

thats exactly what i heard from car care seminar @ infiniti dealer couple weeks ago haha. they emphasized it a lot! and gotta agree on that.

Yap, Pilot Sport A/S for all season. I took the Turanza out to AutoX one time, and it was great fun. Even though I had horrendous track time and spent most of the time sideways or spinning around. Don't get the Turanzas if you love your wife.

you guys are all recommending high performance tires like the S0-3's and PS2's that are twice the price of the tires that this guy is trying to decide between. He obviously doesnt want to spend the money that high performance tires cost and was asking which of the two he stated were better. Plus, he said its his wife's car so i think it would be safe to say that she isnt going to be doing any agressive driving where sticky a$$ tires like S0-3's and PS2's are needed. If i had to choose from the tires they have on tirerack that are around the price of the tires that this guys is trying to choose from i'd go with the Yoko Avid H-4's or the Bridgestone EL400's.

 

Tires are the only thing that contacts the road surface. It is one of the most important performance/safety aspect of the vehicle. I would rather save money buying lower octane gasoline than putting crappy tires on my wife's car. Imagine Kobe Bryant in the playoffs with flip flops on.

 

i've got bridgestone turanza ls-v's, 225/55-17, on the car and they are great! a grand touring tire, that is all season, handles well, grips the road whether it is wet/dry, are quiet as a mouse, and smooth riding. they have already run in the triple digit range several times and inspire confidence at those speeds.

i had the firestone firehawk wide ovals(returned before 30 day guarantee was up due to balancing/handling issues), avon tech m550(returned due to balancing issues) and now the bridgestones. i have about 1500 miles on them and they are a great fit for my '05 sedan, and my driving needs.


just my personal preference, and 2 cents.

 

I have a G35x and found the stock tire to be responsive and fun to drive..

I’m not a kid and don’t track the car… The Bridgestone is a solid tire for the
Normal driver….

 

I have the EL-42's with only 10k on them and will be getting Avon 550 a/s this week. I find the el-42 horrible in the wet in even regular, not aggressive driving. I won't come close to driving moderately hard in the wet. anything but the el-42.

 

I was looking at Tire Rack and I took a peak at the ratings at Pilot Sport A/S. They have high ratings when it comes to Ride Comfort and Performance.

However, I also looked at our tires that come stock on the 18's, and they had better ratings for comfort and quietness than the Pilot Sport A/S! Aren't the Pilot Sport A/S a lot quiter and have a better ride quality than our tires?

 

If you want comfort and quietness, get a Lincoln. G's are sport sedans and need sport tires. The Pilot Sports are WAYYYYYY better than any stock G35 tire. Period.

 

Is this even a discussion? Are really suggesting putting $100.00 tires of a 35K+ sports sedan? No offense, but someone should come take that car away from you for lack of respect. tsk tsk

I am of the Pilot Sport A/S mindset as it seemed to be the best all around tire on the market. I love them.

 

The tires I have on are the stock Pilot Tires that come with the tire and wheel package and they are way loud and come with a pretty rough ride, however; the car can turn pretty well too . I still want the performance that these pilot tires offer, but just a little quiter and a softer ride. Is the Pilot Sport A/S the tires I need to get? I went to www.tires.com and it seems like there are 4 differnt type of pilot tires made.
