Getting rid of my G35 Sedan???

My oldest son has complained about room in the back seat ... he has to sit in the middle between two car seats. I am selling my full size four door truck, which means he would have to ride more in the G to Baseball games, soccer, etc. I am not looking forward to mud on the willow interior.

I am seriously contemplating purchasing a 2000 Range Rover... yes Range Rover. I looked at the FX35 today and I just cannot justify purchasing another new Infiniti. When I purchased the G35 I thought that I should have purchased the Q45 instead. (Did I say that?) So I am following that reasoning and going for the Range Rover instead of the FX ... The main reasons for a Land Rover is the SIZE, style, fun, off road meets (looks like fun), and a lot more room for my three sons. Also, after purchasing three new autos in the past 2.5 years, I just do not want to take that first year depreciation hit again.

I already have an appraisal for the G and the hit I have to take is not as bad as I thought. We will see how the search goes tomorrow. Most likely I will keep the G, but we will see.

Re: Getting rid of my G35 Sedan???

It's funny, I have 3 boys too, the oldest son (16) always wants to ride my G35 sedan because he gets to ride on front seat, it's one of my 10 yo twins complaints a lot because he needs to ride in the middle of back seat, so my wife's minivan is the car we take if my whole family needs to go out together. I have comprimised with a auto 4 dr sedan, ain't going to sarcrifice my driving fun further with a suv or big family sedan.

Re: Getting rid of my G35 Sedan???

Does he REALLY not have room, or is he just being, well,.....a kid?

Your thinking of doing this for a whole .3, that's 3/10th's of an inch more rear leg room??? I checked the specs of the Range Rover vs the sedan on MSN's auto site. Thing is the sedan has more front leg room than the Rover, if you move the sedan's front seat's up to equal that of the rover. The sedan has a 1" rear leg room advantage over the rover. Now I haven't climbed into the back of a 2000 Range Rover, but even without doing so, I'd think you'd be looking at other vehicles that would really offer allot of back seat room. Just my 2 cent's. I certainly agree with you about the idea of mud on the interior.

Re: Getting rid of my G35 Sedan???

Like most families with 2 or more kids, we have a car (my G35) and a van (2001 Odyssey). The van is what we use when we go on family trips including taking the kids to swimming, piano, gym classes, etc. My G is for me to and from work and taking our kids to school in the morning..

Oh yes there are rules in my G. No eating, drinking (only water, no juice), no touching the windows, no feet on the seats or kicking the back of the front seats..

I actually do a food check before accepting visitors into the G - including family.

Re: Getting rid of my G35 Sedan???

I have no kids. Thank god. Im only 18 but i do have alot of friends. How come when kids want to go down the shore its perfectly acceptable to the passangers to squeeze 6 17-18 year olds in my car? Is your kid like 9 feet tall or something. Maybe your sun is just jelous that you have a hot car and he wants to seek revenge? Dont drop the g for a land rover. thats just not rite... tell your wife shes getting van! I supose its because i am young and ignorant that i can not understand comprimise, one day i may have to come to the same conclusion as you, but till then..... DONT BE A GIRL KEEP YOUR CAR!!!!!!

Get a life....the G's the one

Ditto on the Odyssey and the G 35 pratG. I applaud the "No eating in Dad's car" rule. You have the best of both worlds. For you SUV types, the Honda opens up for full 4 X 8 sheets of plywood for all you that think a mini-van is not macho enough. It's the best SUV we have had and we went through a few on the way to this. The G-35, is far an away the best sport sedan that 35 Grand can buy. It fits 4 full sized people (Not 5) That's where the van comes in....

G35/S/MT....this car rocks!

This is the back seat of the Range Rover.

Sorry it took so long to reply ... I was talking about the width of the seat being too small ... I still have not made up my mind, if I am going to do anything. That new tax law has me thinking about a new auto.
