03 G35 Interior Subpar?

I'm in the market for an 03 maybe 04 G and I can't help but notice that the interior (center console mainly) aren't up to par with the rest of the cars in that league....I'm guessing the car's performance makes up for this...I was at the dealership the other day checking some out and didn't really like the HVAC and audio control layout...is there anything u can do to improve this....I've heard about double dins and such or is it not really that bad to u guys? Amber lights weren't the best looking either

The 03/04 interiors are definitely not all that, but if you get sports package on them it comes in a nice painted silver console, as opposed to just plastic. In my opinion I think the interior is average, a lot of people bash them. I remember one guy on a BMW forum compared the G35 interior to a 10 year old KIA, which is just bashing, not being subjective. But yes, the g35's value and bang for the buck is the big v6, torque, HP, rear wheel drive, etc... And the Sedan is huge compared to the Lexus IS, or BMW 3 series. And weighs about the same thanks to a lot of lightweight aluminum components.

On the G35's the AC is connected to the CD player, so to remove the stock CD player you need a "Double Din Dash". They cost about 300-400 just for the kit. But it's a worthwhile investment, if your an audiophile. Another thing you can do is get a double din navgiation unit to fill up the whole space. Run a search for people who have done this, one guy is blackonblackg35 He has a real nice pioneer avic d2.

Just use the search function, Goodluck!

Well........I had an '04, and the console was okay, but for '05, it's much nicer, the interior all around is IMO. Sheesh, 10 year old Kia, you bet that is bashing, I never felt like the interior of my '04 was sub-par at all. Sub-par was the interior of my '00 Mustang GT!!!

The interior is not "sub par" IMO. There are a few plastic components on the dash but it is "average" as compared to most 20 - 30K plus cars on a whole. As regards comparing it to a "luxury" or "premium" vehicle then the dash is slightly less than average but I wouldn't cal lit sub par (with the sport package that is). W/o the sport package, I am not very fond of the dash at all.

I have had an 04 with sports package as a loaner and yes it is a step up from the base models 03/04 but it's still not on par with other cars in the Entry level class I would say it's a step above some of the GM products that claim to be entry level. The plastic looking brushed aluminum and button for hvac and cd changer do not belong in a 30K car. Also seems they improved the leather quality as well for 2005. Get an 05 used I am sure you can find one for a good deal even the base model will get you the real aluminum accents. Plus more horse power, LCD and body colored sidesills and bumper.

Just wondering if anyone knows the part number for the silver center console because i do not have the sport package so mine is just regular plastic looking, but was hoping someone knew where i could buy this part from or what it would be called?
