I just bought the Nismo Factory Body Kit and had my Bodyshop guy install it. Guess what the color is off a complete shade. Its very noticable, I talked to Infiniti about it and there like well that is the part number and color so we really can't do anything about it. I'm like crap $2300 for pre-painted body kit and it doesnt even match

I talked to my bodyshop that installed it and he said the Pearl White is really hard to match, especially if they have robots painting them at the factory. Which i beleive is the case. Anyways he said if the color was darker it would be easier to match but the 3 step process pearl white paint is very had to match without having the car there to match it.

Anyways I was curious if anyone else who bought the factory body kit and has the pearl white car had the same problems.

Also he told me the front bumper was a bitch to put on right. So beware to those who want to install it themselves. I also noticed that the front bumper is slightly off as far as lineing up with the rest of the body panels of the car. Its not off much, but if you look its noticable. For the amount of money they charge it should be almost perfect....

Nismo is Nissan Motorsports? Atleast thats what i thought. Maybe i'm wrong. If it is then Nissan Owns it, and since Nissan owns it and Infiniti, I don't think i'm wrong in saying its a Nismo Factory Body Kit, being that you can order the car from the factory with the body kit on it as a option.

If Nismo is not owned by Nissan and is just a 3rd party supplier then your right and I appoligize for my mistake.

Either way has anyone else had problems with the pearl white body kit you can buy at Infiniti Dealerships being a different shade then there car?

the factor body kit..is actually from nismo...

anyways, you will have to bring it too the infiniti..and they will match it...it can be done..but you have to go to a good infiniti dealership...

where you located? did you get a recommendation from a infiniti dealership or did you randomly pic a body shop?

 

I took your suggestion and took it to the local dealership and they told me ya its definatly a different color. So he said that a factory representative is coming down middle of next month because of an issue with touchup paint not matching, so the parts guy there said he would tell me when he comes in and I can bring my car down there to have him look at it.

The shop I took it to was one i've done bussiness with for years, they do high quality work which i've seen on the ferreri's, MB's and Bimmers I see in there parking lot. They did my Mugen Kit for my prelude so I know there good at what they do, plus the sales manager told me I should take it to them also, why he said this I have no idea, unless he does not have confidence in his mechanics to install it properly...

Anyways I'll let you guys know what the service rep says next month.

I installed it myself and had no problems with the front bumper at all. The front actually was quite simple, and it lines up perfectly, the only trick to it is u have to remove the air ducts that are on your car from the original bumper and cut a piece of the metal reinforcement bar thats underneath the bumper. Once u do that it lines up perfectly.
