Last night, i was on my way to dinner. I see bright HID's pull up fast in my rear view mirror. I let it get next to me and i notice that it's a CL Type S (Nice car!). He slows down and pulls up right next to me. I guessed that he wanted to race. I pushed it into manu-matic and GUNNED it! I started to pull away slowly, then i hit about 90 and i was GONE! There was no way he could have caught me. He came up to me at the next light to applaud me for my speed. He said he didnt know cars were this fast. i smiled said good job back and kept on going. I dont believe that his was a stick. I only noticed that he had tints. But another victory for our G's!

Good kill.... I am guessing he probably gave up at 90... the G35 is slightly faster but not by much.

Ive been on this board and really didnt think that g35 owners were street racers

 

if you havent noticed many people on this board post kills. Ones willingness to race has nothing to do with age, much more with a youthfull percetion on things. You must not have been on this forum for long because many people enjoy posting kills... and please, if you decide to respond, i do not want to hear about some story of how someone dies and how they are a menace. by the way buddy good kill, i have 2 CL-s on my belt as well....

 

yea ive heard a few of these kill posts but for some reason this one bothered me

 

if it really matters to you, i'm 17. But, adding to what Dabearz454 said, alot of people just want to be proud of they're G35 by posting their kills. If you have a problem with these type of posts, then dont bother reading them! i'm pretty sure other people are interested to know what cars we can beat and what cars we cant! Anyways....thanks guys. it was a really fun race. Keep us posted on MORE KILLS!

yes, its like those ppl that keep complaining about the violence on tv but keep their tv's on for 5 hrs a day! contrary to popular belief, we are not a captive audience! well, hrm...come to think of it, we may have selectible captivity tho...

 

Sounds right...fyi the CL-S has a really weak 4th gear in auto form. Even when my Solara was N/A i would pull hard on my friend's CL-S from 90mph on. This was 200hp vs 260hp.

 

wonder what the true dyno is on these CL/TL's with "260" hp...I think the torque number is the majic one. Why cant we get a dyno meter on the dash.

 

They do have 260hp, but they don't have 260 lb-ft of torque. And it's not even peak torque that's important.. it's the area under the curve.

Kills can be very misleading. Especially, when it's a car close in performance to our G's. They are so many variables (driver, mods, etc.) involved that it makes it useless. Unless you are racing the same car time and time again - it does not matter!! Just my $0.02. But, keep listing for the fun factor.

it might be a dog in stock form. but when you have the s/c, tuned afc, lsd, suspension mods, upped boost, upgraded clutch, and drag slicks...it's a decent performer.

anyhow, i'm not here to argue...just pointing out one fact that the CL-S's auto 4th gear is way too tall. Check around on the CL forums...all the owners will tell you the same.
