WRX owner potentially switching to the G35
WRX owner potentially switching to the G35
H i Guys,
This is my first real post here. I've been lurking here for quite some time and have come across some real good info on the G35. First off, I currently own a 2002 subaru wrx. A great car in many ways, but am looking towards getting something else. I seem to get bored of the same car after 2-3 years and really didn't know much abouth the G35 until I came here. Realizing the forums here are pretty biased sometimes towards the G, there was a lot of hoopla about the car that sparked my curiousity. So I decided this past wknd, to go test drive a G35 sedan here in Connecticut (Harte Infiniti). I was really interested in the 6 speed, but they only had an AT to test drive. I took it for a spin with the salesguy, who was very informative. It drove very nice, although I didn't get a chance to take it on the highway. Anyways after the drive the salesguy took my information. I told him I was most interested in the 2004 sedan and probably wouldn't be interested in ordering one until early spring. The one thing from stopping me from ordering now is I feel it kind of hard to get into a new car when winter is coming. Someting about getting a new car and two weeks later it's snowing/sleeting and sorta ruining the whole new driving experience. Also, financially, I'm not quite ready. Any of you guys holding off till Spring? The salesguy called me today and said "just wanted to call you and see if we can order your new G for you". I was like, "well, I'm not ready to order till I at least get to test drive the 6 speed and would still like to wait till Spring time." He was cool with that and I told him I'd get back to him.
Anyways, sorry for the long post. I guess I don't really have specific questions for you guys. JUst wanted to introduce myself and let you know that a wrx owner may soon be changing sides for awhile.

"Yes, the salesguy did tell me about the AWD, however it will only be available in the AT version. At least for 2004."
That's disappointing to hear! I wonder how much slower the AWD drive version will be. I'm sure it will be heavier and there will be more power loss because of the AWD. Maybe Infiniti could offset this by putting the 280 hp coupe engine in the AWD sedan?!

If they do the awd correctly like BMW did then there would be no difference in the times. BMW awd system is pretty light that both the awd and non-awd are doing 0-60 in the same time.
