The master cyclinder actually MOVES like they say??
Maybe this explains the soft brake pedal.

Am I the only one that found this thread's title funny? Master cylinder stiffener sounds like a **** title or something.

How about stuff a block of wood in there and save 150 bucks! Interesting that it moves so much. I'll have my pregnant wife out in the driveway this weekend pushing the pedal so I can see it move!

Looks like a decent part. Stillen has reputable products.
Let us know how it works.

I have one on my S14 which I made myself. Running 6 pots @ each corner up front I didnt think it would make a difference, but it did. I guess there is a bit of flex in the firewall under heavy braking. I would suggest upgrading the brake lines first before getting this tho.

I have one on my coupe. They say it is for the 350z & g35 coupe. BS. The bracket will fit the Z only.I had to fabricate my own bracket & cut down the rod.But it does work. You can barley see it next to the ac line

Stillen's Master Cylinder Brace

I've got 18K miles on my '03 6MT coupe and I've wanted a firmer feel to the Brembo's since first tracking the car last year at Watkins Glen. It always felt like there was just a little air in the lines we could never get out. When Stillen came out with this brace and the explanation, I jumped on it. The catalogue doesn't make it clear that there are two versions, one for the G and one for the Z, with different parts numbers. I mistakenly ordered the part for the Z, called them when it was obvious it wouldn't fit without major mod's, and they clued me in to the other part number. I got the right one, but it's been sitting in the carton since August because Infiniti wouldn't install it (while the were putting in the Stillin sway bars) because of liability issues, and my tuner has been closed since August because of injuries in a testing accident. I'll have to wait 'till spring to see how well it works.

Hmm . . . I just noticed this part in the Stillen catalog a few days ago. I was wondering if anyone had this part. I will be quite interested in the replies to this thread.

Did you ever get it installed, and was it the right part, and was it worth it?

(Yes, I know this is an old thread...)

I have one on my sedan; it fits fine. The 350Z and G have different part numbers. It does help a little.

The best way to describe it would be that it helps with that initial petal grab. Before, even with my BBK the car felt like something was giving out when the petal was first pressed. I have a BBK, lines, good pads, Motul fluid, etc so my next guess was the master cylinder moving. That was it. Now I am very happy with my brakes.
