They offered to switch me into another car that was essentially the same but white (an 05) for no charge, or upgrade to an '06 and split the difference. I ended up getting an 06 6MT Sedan black w/ graphite w/ prem A and aero package. It cost me a little bit to upgrade, but it still seemed like a good deal. They ended up knocking a little over 2,000 off the sticker price of the '06. And now I don't have to worry about buying a spoiler and trying to get it to match.

Unfortunately now I have to go through another break-in period.
Glad to see this worked out for you, sounds like you have a great dealer there!

Good to hear your happy! All dealers are suppose to disclose any information if anything on the car has been replaced or damaged. I think it has to be more than $300 or more. I'm sure they knew that and if they didnt fix it, they would get in a lot of trouble.

Glad things worked out. I don't think you have to be **** to be upset over something like that. It sounds like something happened during shipping and the car was fixed. Whether or not the people you talked to at the dealer knew about this or not is the question.

Right on! Glad it worked out for you. I think you'll get over the second break-in period.

You ended off better in the end, hopefully the frustration was worth it! Sounds like you are a happy camper now!

I can't say enough good things about the dealer, I went in prepared for a fight, and they took care of me. I was friendly and pleasant the whole time (other than being firm that I did not want that blemished car), and they were much more helpful than they had to be. I dealt with 5 different people during the process, and never felt that I was getting the runaround. Each person that looked at the car acknowledged that it was definately not acceptable. The question was what to do about it. And everybody looked at the car from the Service manager to the Finance manager.

Again - Props to Michelle and Jose at Infiniti of Coconut Creek!

I wonder if I will get another box of chocolate? I did notice that this time I did not get the certificate for the first free oil change. Oh well.

I'm sure glad that I didn't have an issue like this. Unless it was immediately obvious, I was nervous enough buying my first NEW car that I probably wouldn't have noticed a paint problem like this.

I'm glad you stuck to your guns and got everything straightened out, and didn't listen to all the peeps that said you were SOL. Clearly, you weren't. Once the dealer knew you weren't gonna let it ride, they covered their *** and made it right.

I bet you see them selling it as a "demo" soon... since a "demo" can legally still be used and lightly repaired, if disclosed. Or they keep it as a loaner. I wonder if they can rescind the title so it still has no title history.

Did you ever get the plates? I wouldn't be surprised if they were holding the paperwork to make sure you kept the car before they sent it in.

Glad it worked out. In case you haven't/didn't - make sure to get a clear bra on the '06. Black car + Nissan paint + 1000 miles a week + you obviously care what it looks like = it'll be well worth the money.

The title work hadn't gone through yet. They will probably fix it and sell as a demo, or use as a loaner. If I were them I would try to send it back to infiniti

Papers hadn't gone through, yet? Imagine that...

Sorry, but I am having an extremely difficult time believing that it came from Infiniti in that condition, no matter what the dealership is saying.

You got chocolate? I want chocolate.

Heh. I wonder what other things various dealers throw in? Mine didn't give me an oil change or sweets, but they did give me a certificate for a free family portrait. Which I forgot to use, come to think of it...

Glad you got taken care of,
~ Mike
