I bought my G in October, just rolled 3000 miles but already seen 6 visits to the shop. Compression Rod on drivers front replaced, all four regulator bolts (??) in the doors replaced, then regulators got lubed, steering wheel creaks on cold starts and when you turn the A/C or heater the dashboard starts popping at random intervals. WTF. My door panels still buzz, rattle and pop. I've had several other problems with the car that still haven't been resolved. I think I've made a big mistake....

I had the same noise. Took my car to the dealer at 30K miles, and they admitted the noise was a known issue on similar vehicles and agreed to fix it. Next time I took it in, the part was ordered and the noise disappeared.

Now, at ~75K miles... the noise has re-appeared. Same "sqeak/creak" when the vehicle is cold and the steering wheel is turned. Apparently, some cables stuffed in the steering wheel were causing the issue when they rub.

By the way - I'm talking about my 2001 Pathfinder LE.
