question reg the maxima 3.5L & midpipe

a buddy of mine has a 05 maxima, and he's wondering is there anyway to get the maxima to sound like a G35 coupe or the 350z, i know on the Gsedan you can get the midpipe (which i already purchased from a member here)
and im wondering is it possible to change the midpipe on a maxima to get that sound as well??
anyone know anything about this

Maybe check out a Maxima forum & look there? Or ask Nissan or maybe get a custom exhaust made (but that would be hit or miss). Better yet....call nissanperformanceparts.com and ask them. Just an idea.

I think it's possible and he could probably get it close, however, he'll have to lose one of his mufflers in the process because he'll have to use the G sedan muffler and there will be no use for the other muffler. I'd tell him to get the coupe or Z midpipe and cut out the resonator then cut out the Maxima midpipe resonator and replace with the coupe/Z resonator. Then take the G35 muffler and weld it in. He should get a similiar sound to a G35 with a coupe midpipe. The only thing I don't know about is if the G/Z/M/FX tubular steel exhaust manifolds actually add to some of the noise. The Maxima uses nasty and restrictive cast iron "log" style manifolds.
