Congrats on your G! Welcome to the board. You are getting the newbie treatment here--which is unfortunate. Remember to do a search first for questions, and umm becareful posting any video clips here--because it will likely be met with the following attachment.....

I actually like the original 'doggy door' of the original trunk (which I have), or at least the trunk release button. When I drive one of the newer ones (without keyless entry), I find that it's a pain to have to go around the car, open the door, and push the button to open the trunk. The other problem with the button, is that you can occasionally hit the button by mistake when you are reaching to switch off the traction control, at least when you're not used to it.

When I first had the car, I clicked on that button while driving to see what it did. Nothing noticable, then when I got home, noticed that the trunk was ajar. Only vehicle I've had where the trunk didn't pop all the way open when unlocked.

that's the ejection button..you know, in emergency, you press it, then they blow the roof off and your seat will be ejected with you strapped in the seat!! that's a safety feature more advance than airbags and ABS lol..

It's the "auto **** probe " that should be activated while reading the owners manual. Nice!

No, you have to "Repost" in order to find that out.

Well I guess I'll chime in on this one...I was going to be nice & just not reply at all....but this is way too much fun after reading the newer posts! My first thought was the ejection button.....but come to think of it, isn't this the toggle switch like in Knight Rider?

In a related but different question. Considering that you turn off the VDC every time you drive the car, wouldn't it be better to have it somewhere other than right next to the trunk release button? Maybe like on the dashboard near the radio or the shifter? Maybe I drive with my seat too far back, or my arms are too short, but it is a long stretch for me to hit the VDC off button every time.

I would rather have it off by default and have to reach down to turn it on in the rain or when I let someone else drive it.

Oh yeah - and it really sucks when I reach down there and pop the trunk by mistake.
