Hey All,

Let me start by saying that this site/forum is great. Thanks for all of the information.

My question is, how are you mounting your PDA's and cell phones? Vent mount? Dash mount etc?

If you have a mount, please attach pictures.

Thanks!

When I had my VW, I used this sweet holder that attached to the heater/ac vents. Since the G's vents swivel up/down, not the best place to mount anymore due to the weight of the phone. I stick mine along with my Blackberry in the holder below the clock/above the heat/ac controls (since I don't have the NAVI). Unfortunatly, there's no good place to stick a cell phone these cars......

I was hoping to use the vent mount too. I'm glad you mentioned the swivel of the vent. I hadn't thought about that. That's a bummer because the vent just to the right of the steering wheel would be perfect!

Noremac - that's funny - I was just at that sight. I like the solution, but I'm not sure how elegant it will be when I try to charge it. I might end up with cables everywhere.

Although, it looks like the best option so far.

Not sure if I like this..plus, it gives another possible location for rattles to take place! (plastic on plastic)

I used the vent on the passenger side (next to where the NAV is). Used vent clip to hold my Dell Axim that I use GPS with. Obviously it won't stay because of the weight. What I did was underneath the vents (where the rolling wheel) there's a little gap. I squeezed and pushed in some soft foam until it stops rolling. It's been holding up the PDA for a good 9+ months now with no issues. Oh the vent clip I used are the swivel ones. So the screen is tilted towards me.

I made a custom mount for my Razr. I modified a plastic holster and double stick taped it to the dash. I'll take a pic when I get a chance.

I have one in my truck and my wife has one in her Accord and they are great. Very strong and they fit behind the plastic panels so there is no drilling through anything.

My wife bought me a rubber-like holder (mine is gray) that sits in one of the cup holders. It has two openings to put in different size phones and 2 holes for pens. I am sure that with a razor knife you could make an opening bigger and a PDA might fit. I don't think it was very expensive (looks like it should be about $5 but that probably means it cost $20!). It does not rattle and you can lift it out anytime as it is not attached. It leaves the other cup opening free, although a large handle might not work. The only ID on it says Hennger Holdings, LLC and there is a number 37 on the bottom. I didn't google it yet.

Interesting. I've never had a problem with the Proclip sticking with the ashtray (mine is a 2004). Here are a couple of pics with my CellPort unit attached. Someday, I hope to replace it with the new Parrot 3200 bluetooth display (which is much smaller than the Cellport).

Andy - When I read this thread, I though of this, as I've seen this before...pretty simple invention too. I use both my cup holders for beverages of my choice.....so not an option for me.

Mikeee2 - good idea w/ the foam! I may do that.
